Joanna had closed her heart to Tyler because she couldn't
let go of the aching pain she felt when she thought of her
dead husband and son. When they were ripped from her life
by her sister's abusive boyfriend, the fear of loss and
more pain grew until she couldn't make herself commit to
Tyler, even though she was falling in love with him.
But when an escaped convict is apparently headed for Jo's
Montana ranch/hotel, Tyler's role as sheriff puts him back
in her life. A blinding snowstorm keeps him from her side
and Jo has no way of knowing if any of her guests could be
the convict who's obsessed with her. A romance writer, Jo
came to the attention of murderer Aaron Doherty when he
discovered her books while in prison. An earthquake allowed
him the chance to track Jo down and let her know how much
he loves her.
This is the second in Brennan's Prison Break series (the
first was KILLING FEAR). While she's a solid writer -- and
you certainly feel the pain of Jo's losses -- the book was a
little too contrived and unimaginative for me. Escaped con,
massive snowstorm that traps everyone within his reach,
etc., just left me feeling as if I was reading a story I'd
read before.
Romance writer Joanna Sutton returned home to the secluded
Centennial Valley in Montana to heal after the murder of
her husband and son. Now, four years later, she is trapped
with a killer in snow storm.
