Jenny T. Partridge owns a dance school in Utah. True to all
dance directors, she has some definite psycho moms of little
diva dance wannabes. It's enough to drive a sane person
crazy with all of the phone calls and messages, not to
mention the ones who want to ruin her by dying her hair! She
is just dying to stay out of trouble -- oh well, that's not
going to happen.
Hollywood StarMakers Convention is coming to town, with her
old flame Bill Flanagan in charge. He is a few teachers
short -- literally -- so he asks Jenny and one of her
employees, James, to teach for him. That's where the fun
begins. Someone has it out for Jenny and would rather she
"shimmy" on elsewhere. Could it be Bill's new little "suzi --
q", Bonnie? Or maybe James, whose shoe prints were found
tapping on someone's head, is a "shim sham". Whoever it is,
is determined that the convention is going to be a "brush" off.
Jenny starts getting threats and other in other serious
accidents, and in waltzes the handsome Detective Tate. The
boy sure has the right moves, but Jenny still is a little
hesitant, until staying safe means staying with Tate. There
are too many threats in too short of a time span to call it
coincidence. What's a director to do -- this is showbiz you know!
I absolutely love with a capital "L", Natalie M. Roberts
TAPPED OUT. I am a dance instructor by profession, and she
had me rolling in the aisles when she started describing
some of the moms. I could actually give her the real names,
so as not to protect the not so innocent. Every director has
them, but Ms. Roberts captures their true essence. It is
priceless. Even if the reader isn't a dance affectionado, he
or she would love the unexpected twists in the plot and the
zany characters. It all adds up to be a great read with a
fun theme.
Jenny thinks filling in as a dance instructor on the
Hollywood StarMakers Tour will be easy money-until someone
makes it clear that they want her to shuffle off to
Buffalo. When other instructors start disappearing, Jenny,
with the very attractive Detective Tate spotting her, vows
that the show will go on.
