Go figure -- a person lucky enough to win a shiny red T-Bird
convertible -- should be able to find someone to love. Bailey
Ventura has her sights set on what her perfect lover should
be. He has to look like, have the moves and sing like the
king -- the king of rock and roll -- you know Elvis. All the
ladies in Bailey's family are in love with Elvis and bemoan
the fact that he's gone. Oh they don't acknowledge his
passing just that he's missing and along with many of his
faithful fans they await the day when he returns. Bailey's
vacation in Las Vegas starts out rather unlucky. First she
has to be rescued from the shower stall with the door
solidly stuck and her without even a washcloth to keep her
modesty in check as the security officer is summoned to
help. Then she gets stuck in the elevator on the way down to
the casinos and silently prays that that security office
won't show up. With $10 deposited in the slot machine Bailey
decides it's time -- so garnering all her courage with the
help of the white Russian in her hand she presses the
maximum credit button and waits. Wild Card -- Wild Card --
Wild Card. And the T-Bird is hers and guess who comes to
present her with the keys to her new car -- security guy --
Carter Davis. Carter Davis also happens to be appearing as
one of the Elvis tribute artists. There's no denying, even
though their initial meeting was a rather embarrassing one,
the attraction. But Carter isn't looking for someone who
falls in love with his Elvis persona he wants the real thing
and is reluctant to believe there is any future with Bailey
Carter. Throw in a jewelry heist, some bad guys, and a cast
of crazy relatives it's going to take some work to make
their relationship work. But in the words of Bailey's Aunt
Fiona "if a man makes you sick enough to puke -- it must be
real love." So Bailey's in it for the duration.
Alexa Darin has compiled an interesting set of characters in
this story about the people that seem to line up outside of
Graceland everyday. They are quirky but nice and certainly
fun to watch as they throw their unmentionables up on stage
at these artists who work very hard at perfecting their
Elvis acts. You can't help but get attached to these funny
and warm people and root for the good guys. At the end of
the day it makes you reach for your old Elvis albums to hear
the king once again.
Bailey Ventura knows just what type of man she wants...a man
who can walk the walk and sing the songs of Elvis Presley.
So when she meets Carter Davis, head of casino security on
a trip to Las Vegas, she thinks she's the luckiest girl
alive. Carter has what Bailey wants all right, but is he
really the best thing that's ever happened to her? Or is
he just a devil in disguise, with a hidden agenda, that
will end up breaking her heart?
