Thriller Serial Killer | Thriller Psychological | Mystery Police Procedural

Detective Kay Delaney returns and this time, she's looking for one of her own. Policewoman Micky Luttrell vanished after getting off-duty as an undercover prostitute. Unfortunately, prostitutes have been disappearing and if the same person has taken Micky, the future doesn't look good.

Daryl Eugene Wardell doesn't know his latest victim is a policewoman until he sees a story on the news. While it may bring more attention his way, he really has no fear anyone will catch him. After all, he's been torturing and killing women for years and no one has ever questioned his involvement. Besides, he can't give up his latest toy.

Delaney joins forces with her former lover, Danny Finnerty (Finn), and refuses to assume Micky is dead. She will find the policewoman. But she has no idea she's facing one of the most evil killers of her career.

Daryl Eugene Wardell is in a league occupied by only a few sadistic killers -- one of which would be Hannibal Lector. Ms. Haus creates a chilling realism in BLUE JUSTICE that will have you calling the alarm company, locking doors and possibly checking into classes to carry concealed weapons. Very, very haunting and disturbing. Oh, did I mention excellent? Great characters (love Delaney and Finn), excellent writing and a scary, scary plot -- what more do you want?

SUMMARY

Illona Haus's grittiest, most riveting thriller yet -- the third novel featuring Detective Kay Delaney -- takes readers into the twisted mind of a serial rapist and on a desperate hunt for the detective he has brutally abducted.

They don't know if she's alive....

He had seen her in his dreams, knew she was the one. But when Daryl Eugene Wardell kidnaps her -- his next victim in a long line of female prey -- he thinks she is just another hooker no one will miss. He hadn't counted on her being a cop, tough as nails, with the entire Baltimore police force fighting for her survival.

But they'll do anything it takes to find her.

In the midst of the biggest crime wave ever to hit the city, Detective Kay Delaney is struck with shattering news. One of her own, Detective Micky Luttrell, has vanished during an undercover sting as a prostitute. With little evidence to go on, the determined Kay is handpicked to work with her former lover, Danny Finnerty, to find Micky's abductor. Putting all else aside, Kay will do whatever it takes to rescue her fellow officer from the torturous clutches of a sadistic killer -- who defies everything she thought she knew about the most twisted side of human nature.
