Romance Suspense | Suspense

Leading a boring life as an employee of the local Shop-Mart while hoping to some day use her training as a fashion designer, Dorie Anderson dreams of being with sexy Matthew McConaughey on a deserted island with double chocolate chip cookies. Life changes quickly when she receives a message to retrieve her "prize." Dorie is ecstatic that she's earned a free trip to Fiji on an exclusive sailing yacht and envisions starry skies, romance and hot, hot sex (which she hasn't had in two years!).

All caution thrown to the wind, Dorie packs her bags and splits for paradise. But total disaster seems to follow Dorie wherever she goes. Upon boarding, Dorie's tongue swells and she has trouble speaking with the hunk who's helping her. All sexy, good-looking men cause this reaction. Not known for her natural grace, Dorie's grand entrance ends her on her butt with her dress around her head while trying to walk up the ramp. With embarrassment, Dorie meets the rest of the crew: Denny, Bobby and Ethan. Not only has she twisted her ankle in the fall, but she ends up with a splinter in her behind. Needing to be treated by the ship's doctor, Christian, she finds him a gorgeous, but grumpy, Frenchman and refuses to tell him about the splinter.

Also on the cruise is Andy, a baseball star, and two other women, Brandy and Cadence, who are also dreaming of romance, sex and lying on a beautiful tropical beach. Little do they know that a sudden storm is developing that will disable their ship to the point of navigation being impossible. During the storm, Dorie thinks she witnesses a man being thrown overboard. Later, Christian and Dorie find blood covering Bobby's cabin, but no Bobby. Eventually, an island is spotted and they're able to make it to shore.

While trying to survive on the island, Christian and Dorie engage in hot, startling sex. Because her tongue doesn't swell when around Christian, Dorie finally concludes that it's because he means too much to her.

They are eventually rescued by the famous writer/producer who owns the island and takes them to his mansion on the other side of the island. While waiting for someone to take them off the island, more things go terribly wrong. Will Christian and Dorie survive to ever begin a life together?

Dorie is a terrific, spirited character. The hot, sizzling sex is well-written and in good taste. By reading every word can you best enjoy the witty and refreshing humor. I certainly did and hope to read more by this author.

SUMMARY

When Dorie Anderson meets a cute guy, she becomes a huge klutz. But one phone call has turned her dead-end dating life into an adventure: she's won a trip on a singles' cruise to Fiji. On board, she soon meets pro baseball player Andy, and the ship's hunky French doctor. She's sure she'll fall head-over-heels in no time.

Unfortunately, she's right: soon, she trips over her luggage right in front of them. Mortifying. But a bigger disaster is just on the horizon. Dorie finds a man murdered in his bunk the same night a storm wrecks the ship, stranding everyone on a deserted shore. It'd be a perfect setting for romance-if it weren't for the fact that there's a killer among them.
