Suspense | Inspirational

Lydia Sloan is a mother who is trying to stay one step ahead of her pursuers. She is forced into a web of deceit when her husband is murdered in a house fire in order to silence the secrets he knows forever. When a man in a black Mercedes tries to kidnap her son, Tyler, Lydia knows she has to leave Atlanta. She decides to take shelter at Sanctuary Island. Arriving at the home of a relative in the middle of a storm, Lydia Sloan accidentally sets off the alarm system. She is at her wit's end and has no idea who she can trust. Will she be able to unravel her husband's secrets and discover his killer? Or will she always be on the run? Is there anywhere that she can be safe?

Matt Lawson is the chief of security on Sanctuary Island who has a past of his own. Needing some time to deal with the death of his partner and his role in the incident, Matt leaves the Miami police department to head to Georgia. He is responding to a triggered alarm during a storm when he comes across a scared woman and child. He takes her back to his office until he receives confirmation from Ms. O'Connor, who is out of the country, that Lydia Sloan is indeed an expected houseguest and not a burglar. Her child reminds him of his partner's child, and he is more determined to discover the truth behind her visit to the island. Who is this woman really? What or who is she running from? Will he be able to use his trust in God to show her that she is never alone?

Debby Giusti's debut novel is nicely written. It is a captivating inspirational romantic suspense. She effortlessly combines the three elements to come up with a great tale. The story has non-stop suspense that keeps the reader on edge. The plot contains many twists and turns that keeps you guessing at the outcome. The characters are well developed, and there are many possible romances. Throughout the story, there is an underlying theme of trusting in God. NOWHERE TO HIDE is a book to be enjoyed and Ms. Giusti is an author to add to that keeper list.

SUMMARY

If she'd arrived a moment later, her husband’s killer would have taken her son away forever. Fearful the perpetrator would return, Lydia Sloan fled to an island of refuge off the Georgia coast. As she attempted to unravel the tangle of lies left by her husband, Lydia knew that with the murderer only a step behind, her son was far from safe.

Matt Lawson, the fiercely handsome security guard, seemed to be the only one she could trust with her secret. Yet as danger rose with the evening tide, Lydia was left with nowhere to hide.
