Thriller, Mystery Private Eye

Imagine yourself a famous TV correspondent, popular, tough for the truth and in high demand among your peers. Now, imagine what might happen when a personal promise to your child, amidst previous personal issues that have affected your job, interferes with getting your job done. Not only that, but imagine what might happen if the truth you seek unravels secrets of corruption, mafia danger and illegal child-trafficking.

This famous correspondent is Jake Carlson. Jake promised his son, Sam, he'd do his best to find Sam's birth mother after the death of his adoptive mother. Jake knows this will be a difficult task, but he has lots of experience ferreting out the truth. As Jake digs further, not only is his job at stake, but his life as well. Jake makes connections between the world of a dirty politician and the Albanian Mafia, almost becoming the next sensational story.

AMERICAN OUTRAGE depicts tabloid journalism as a cut-throat industry. The plot moves quickly as father and son work to uncover the truth and try to stay alive. Set in New York, Tim Green uses his knowledge of behind the scenes television news programs and an entertaining gift of storytelling to deliver a terrific suspenseful thriller.

SUMMARY

As an investigative journalist, Jake Carlson has made a career of digging up the truth. Award-winning work for the network news and NPR have led to a lucrative job as a correspondent for a popular television news show. But soon, his life and career are derailed when he loses his wife, leaving him to raise their adopted son Sam. Afraid of being left parentless, Sam yearns to find his biological mother. Using his investigative skills to find the truth for his son, Jake uncovers a horrifying ring of deceit and black market child trafficking that he could never have imagined. Worse, Jake is inextricably tied to this nefarious syndicate--it gave him Sam. When it's revealed that Sam's bloodline involves a complicated inheritance from a politically powerful New England family, Jake knows that it's no longer only his life that is at risk, but his son's as well.
