Keelia is queen of her people, a race of shape-shifters who
change into wolf form at the full moon. Her people's major
enemy is a race that shifts into mountain cats, so she's
desperate when she awakens to find herself a prisoner of
Joryn, one of the hated enemy. She knows he'll change into
a cat at moonrise, even though he's in human form when she
regains consciousness. And a very nice form it is, too. She
can't keep herself from being drawn to him, and he is drawn
to her, too. They each feel the deep, physical yearning to
give in to their bodies' demands. Then she understands he
is her mate -- a match that will either bring their peoples
to total annihilation or the peace spoken of in ancient
prophecies. But, she'll have a tough job convincing Joryn
of that. Before they even reach that obstacle, they must
work together to defeat an enemy that's set on destroying
both their races.
PRINCE OF FIRE is the second installment in the Children of
the Sun trilogy, Ms. Jones' second series that continues
the saga of the Fyne sisters, of the Sisters of the Sun
trilogy. I loved these characters. Keelia is regal and a
bit spoiled, but always has the good of her people foremost
in her mind. Joryn is definitely an alpha male, but also
has his people and their future in mind. This story
seamlessly continues the one begun in PRINCE OF MAGIC and
nicely sets the stage for the third book of the series,
PRINCE OF SWORDS. I can't wait to read it and am sure
you'll feel the same way if you pick up this book. Be sure
to read the first trilogy, too, as it lends a sense of
continuity to the storyline and gives the rich background
of the history of the characters. Don't miss this very good
read.
Following the acclaimed Sisters of the Sun trilogy comes
the Children of the Sun, a trilogy about the sisters' first-
born children. Here in its second installment, Keelia,
Queen of the Anwyn, falls for her shape-shifting kidnapper,
but still cannot deny the ever-looming Prophecy of the
Firstborn: She will betray love in the name of victory.
