Romance | Romance Contemporary

Popular, sexy actress Zoe Tarleton desperately needs lawyer Flynn Granger...to teach her how to be a nerd! Tired of the brainless, sex-pot portrayals she's known for, Zoe has her eye on the role of a lifetime, but doubts anyone in Hollywood will take her seriously. She comes up with the idea of one-on-one tutoring from her lawyer, in the unlikely named town of Long Shaft, California. Unable to resist, Flynn agrees to her plan, but only with the stipulation he be allowed to explain to his fiancée what they're doing.

In Long Shaft, Zoe's high school friend has taken care of everything, arranging for them to stay in a secluded cabin deep in the heart of Bigfoot Country. Flynn soon finds himself enjoying being Zoe's nerd coach, especially after they begin acting out the R-rated script! However, someone is unhappy with the incognito couple's presence. Accidents begin to happen, and the list of culprits is lengthy.

Ms. Thompson has another hit with GONE WITH THE NERD, the latest in her popular Nerd series. Humor and sensuality abound, Flynn and Zoe are terrific foils for one another, and the supporting characters, including Bigfoot, add much to the plot. The identity of the would-be killer was no surprise to me, but that didn't keep me from enjoying the story.

SUMMARY

Hot movie star Zoe Tarleton gets piles of money but no respect because she always plays a beautiful bombshell. When she gets the chance to play a geeky chemist working on a formula to combine weight loss, sexual potency, and anti- aging in one powerful pill, she is determined that this role will open up her career. Zoe may be too hot to understand her character, but she has a plan: her ultimate nerd lawyer Flynn Granger can teach her the ropes.

Flynn agrees to help Zoe out, but he's strictly business about it--his girlfriend is a Harvard professor and he plans to propose the next weekend. But when he sees Zoe in an outfit she considers nerdy, he realizes he's taken on an impossible task--she's just too cool to change. As they rehearse scenes in a secluded California cabin, they'll have to embrace their alter egos and fight the growing attraction between them. And they'll have to dodge an increasingly unstable stalker who wants to end their relationship...and Zoe's life.

Gone WIth the Nerd is Vicki Lewis Thompson at her fun, sexy best.
