Thriller Political

Life in the United States since 9/11 has changed dramatically. The country is regularly on high alert and finally agencies are working together to share information to fight terrorism. Still, when terrorists strike again, not New York City or Washington D.C. but the heartland, the United States is once more paralyzed in the aftermath.

Newly elected President David Venable is struggling with the chaos that results from the terrorist attacks, as well as developing a plan for seeking out the culprits, all with no sleep. The lack of sleep is definitely affecting his decision-making abilities. Vice President Elizabeth Beecham is concerned about Venable's state of mind and begins to question his ability to be commander-in-chief. Decisions and plans need to be made quickly and decisively, and Venable may not be up to the task.

FBI special agent and dedicated family man Jeremy Waller is assigned the unenviable job of covertly penetrating the terrorist network, creating a fake identity and tracking down the culprits who not only shot down several planes, but also bombed key tourist attractions, such as the Mall of America and Disneyland. Infiltrating the Phineas Priesthood, an element of the Christian Identity Movement, Waller is thrust into the middle of the intrigue, which not only appears to have an Islamic connection, but also on the surface has a domestic extremist connection. As Waller discovers, the domestic connection may lead right up to the Oval Office.

WHITE is a fast-paced and plot-driven intrigue that requires the reader to not only pay attention to the vast number of government organizations and acronyms, but also to the array of characters who may not be exactly what they appear. Whitcomb, who utilizes his previous knowledge as an FBI agent to incorporate a strong sense of realism and tension, propels readers on a roller coaster ride that does not disappoint to shock and alarm.

SUMMARY

"On an anti-terror black op in Indonesia, FBI special agent Jeremy Waller sees something he never expected: six terrorists are arrested, but three of them are clearly good-old-boy Americans. Even more confusing is the CIA's response to their capture: immediate execution, without interrogation. Back in New York, at the headquarters of telecommunications giant Borders Atlantic, all hell has broken loose: the ultrasecure encryption of the Quantis cellular phone system has been cracked - but by whom? And just when things couldn't get worse, there is a series of coordinated terrorist bombings at Disneyland, at the Mall of America, and in Atlanta's Buckhead region." When signs of a dark alliance between American extremists and Islamic terrorists emerge, Waller knows that there is only one way to destroy it: by going undercover. But when the trail leads to the Oval Office itself, Jeremy is faced with the most difficult choices of his life.
