Romance Chick-Lit

The most fun read I've had this year!

Gabrielle Wolf wants out of her life. Never mind the fact that her three-year boyfriend just proposed. She wishes she could take the job of her dreams in New York, keep the boyfriend, and have it all! Unfortunately, life forces us to make choices...unless you wish upon a star. Gabby does.

In ME VS. ME, wishes do come true. Gabby wakes up to discover that she is now splitting time between two alternate realities: the one in which she plans a wedding to her fiance, with the assistance of his overbearing, orange-loving mother, and the one in which she rejects his proposal and flies off to NY to work as a producer for a top-rated 24-hour cable news channel.

During her journey transversing these two lives, Gabby learns about herself, what she really wants, what she's willing to put up with, and that the grass may not be greener—at least not as green as it looks at first glance— on the other side of the fence, or in this case, the other side of reality.

I laughed out loud through the entire book as Gabby dealt with obnoxious in-laws-to-be, psycho roommates, a spineless fiance, and disgusting dates. (My husband looked askance at me a couple of times. I tried to explain but his eyes glossed over so I kept reading and laughing and he kept watching playoff baseball.)

Who doesn't wish they could chuck their real life—the one with obligations, less than perfect decisions, and regrets— and start a new life in a fascinating city where everything glitters, even if all may not all be gold?

A smart, witty chick-lit book that takes the genre to another level, ME VS. ME is a great read from cover to cover. Rather than simply whine about the quest to find a good man, Gabby, who already has one, explores what life might be like with him...and without him. Creative and sassy, this one is highly recommended.

SUMMARY

Gabby Wolf has pretty much, almost definitely (this close!) come to a decision: She's trading in Phoenix (nice but uneventful life with boyfriend) for Manhattan (dream job as producer for highly successful news show). Then Cam swoops in and gives her a sparkling engagement ring, making her decision even more impossible. Husband vs. career. Vera Wang wedding dress vs. sexy first-date outfits. Planting roots in Phoenix vs. playing the field in Manhattan… She wishes she didn't have to decide, that she could have it all.

She never expects her wish to come true.

Suddenly Gabby's living two lives. Whenever she falls asleep in one, she wakes up in the other. She's got the best of both worlds—what more could a girl ask for? Right?

This fantastic (and fantastical) new novel from bestselling author Sarah Mlynowski will have you flipping pages as quickly as Gabby flips lives to find out which Gabby reigns supreme in the battle of Me vs. Me.
