OLD BOYFRIENDS is road trip of a story for three old friends heading toward mid-life and a 30th year reunion at their New Orleans high school.

Bitsey grew up in a large home in the Garden District, a daughter of wealth and privilege. She is now married to Jack and has three daughters of her own. The upcoming reunion has inspired her to get serious about losing weight and evaluating the state of her long marriage. Is the spark still there between her and Jack, or now that the children are grown is divorce looming in the very near future.

M.J. is Frank's second wife. She broke up his marriage, and the relationship between her and his children has never been good. His sudden death, and the manner in which he died has shaken M.J's confidence. The fact that nothing in her world truly belongs to her, but to Frank's children spurs her into action to protect the things she most wants including her Jaguar. For her plan to succeed, she must rely on Bitsey and Cat's assistance.

Cathy Ann known as Cat comes from a dysfunctional family in one of the worst parts of New Orleans. She's twice divorced, but still dating one of her exes. When the idea of the road trip come up, Cat joins in, not sure what to expect.

All the women left behind high school boyfriends, and plan on trying to contact them while in New Orleans. Will the "boys" of their girlhood dreams be the MEN that each of the women needs today?

The trip home to New Orleans forces each of the women to look at a side of themselves they had thought either long buried or long accepted. The contact with the old boyfriends will affect each of them, their relationship with not only one another, and with their families as well.

Be warned OLD BOYFRIENDS is not a smooth romantic ride, and there are several potholes along the route. If you are a reader of Women's Fiction, then I believe you will enjoy OLD BOYFRIENDS. Ms. Becnel did a good job of developing each characters past, and helps them come to terms with those pasts so that they may embrace their futures with open arms.

SUMMARY

Three girlfriends whose love lives have definitely seen better days decide to take a road trip to New Orleans - the town they all left behind - ostensibly to attend a high schol reunion, but really to find out whatever happened to all those old boyfriends they left behind.

M.J. is a gorgeous younger woman whose older husband died in bed of... well, let's just say he died ina compromising position. Bitsy is an overweight housewife who believes there's got to be more to life. And Cat is a twice- divorced designer whose pristine present is small compensation for her past.

The trophy wife, prom queen and trashy girl have one thing in common - the guys presently in their lives don't hold a candle to the boys in their past. These three pals are taking to the road to prove that you really can go home again.
