Romance

Soft and light as a winter snowfall, you are pulled into the Christmas snowglobe world of Katherine O'Connor, known as K.O. by her many friends. A medical transcriptionist by training, she is searching to find a job in Public Relations where her writing talents and newly acquired degree could be better put to use. Meanwhile, she had developed a little sideline business writing witty and interesting Christmas letters for her friends and clients in Seattle.

K.O. is single, loves kids, especially her five year old twin nieces, Zoe and Zara, but has been annoyed by the change in their normally nice behaviour, especially since her sister, Zelda O'Connor Davidson, had gone overboard following the advice of psychologist Dr. Wynn Jeffries. He advocates that every child should be able to do want they want and find their own boundaries and that no fantasies should be imposed on them. The Christmas loving K.O. goes ballistic every time she thinks about his "Bury Santa Under the Sleigh!" motto!

Then a chance meeting with the infamous Dr. Wynn in her faviourite coffee shop while she is munching her bran muffin coffee shop shakes her world and her ideas about him. When her good friend and neighbour, LaVonnie, sees love for her in the kitty litter, the snow really swirls! How it all settles is fun to watch, especially when they end up babysitting together! What a night!

This lighthearted romance is the perfect Christmas treat! Just don't read this in public as you'll burst out laughing at all the antics and little set-ups going on! Debbie Macomber has spun her usual magic in developing the evolving relationship between Katherine and Wynn. The wit sparkles like snow and is sharp as icicles. The relationships between the sisters and with her neighbour ring as true as a bell and really help to move the story along without interfering with the main plot. The Blossom Street connection is nicely woven into the story and fans that have read "Susannah's Garden" will enjoy the quick Christmas update. You won't even have time to heat the hot chocolate before you are swirled into this Christmas world! A guaranteed delight!

SUMMARY

Katherine O'Connor often spends her days at a cozy cafe on Blossom Street in Seattle -- where she writes Christmas letters for other people. She's good at making their everyday lives sound more interesting. More humorous. More dramatic.

But for Dr. Wynn Jeffries, who also frequents the cafe, Christmas means lies and deception. In fact, the renowned child psychologist recommends that parents "Bury Santa Under the Sleigh." Katherine, however, feels that his parenting philosophy is one big mistake -- at least, based on her four-year-old twin nieces, who are being raised according to his "Free Child" methods.

She argues with Wynn about his theories, while he argues that her letters are nothing but lies. They disagree about practically everything -- and yet, somehow, they don't really want to stop arguing.

As the days -- and nights -- move closer to Christmas, Katherine and Wynn both discover that love means accepting your differences. And Christmas is about the things you share...
