Inspirational Mystery
Welcome to Kanner Lake, a small idyllic town in northern
Idaho. The most newsworthy event to happen to the town in
recent history was the moving in of Edna San, an old time
movie star. Now Edna San is missing, and the town is full
of suspects, as half the town has taken a dislike to the
woman. The publicity this news brings to Kanner Lake has
the power to sink the tourism industry that the town
thrives on. Will Kanner Lake survive the disappearance of
Edna San? Paige Williams is running from a past she wishes to keep
secret. However, some disturbing events in the middle of
the night threaten to take her away from the haven she has
found in Kanner Lake. Will she make the right decisions?
Will her past catch up with her? Bailey Truitt and Sarah Wray are local business owners.
Their livelihoods depend on the tourists that come to
town. Bailey runs the Java Joint and writes a blog to
help encourage tourism. Sarah runs Simple Pleasures and
employs Paige. Will this news sink their businesses? Leslie Brymes is a budding newspaper reporter. She seizes
the opportunity to make it to the big time by capitalizing
on Edna San's disappearance. She wants to help solve the
crime like her idol, TV news reporter, Milt Waking. Will
she be able to take hold of her dream? Will she help
solve the crime? Vince Edwards is the local police chief. After finding
Edna's guard dog dead, he fears that Edna San is not just
missing but has been murdered. As evidence keeps mounting
against a single person, he begins to wonder if the person
has been set up. Will he be able to solve the mystery
surrounding Edna San's disappearance? Brandilyn Collins is a magnificent storyteller. She has
the ability to weave the past with the present and to
intertwine the people's lives to tell her tale. VIOLET
DAWN gives us the view of the townspeople as well as the
view from the killer. Ms. Collins has written another
fantastic mystery and VIOLET DAWN is a great beginning to
a new series. I will be on the lookout for CORAL MOON,
the second book in the Kanner Lake series.
SUMMARY
Something sinuous in the water brushed against Paige’s knee.
She jerked her leg away. What was that? She rose to a
sitting position, groped around with her left hand. Fine wisps wound themselves around her fingers. Hair? She yanked backward, but the tendrils clung. Something solid
bumped her wrist. Paige gasped. With one frantic motion she
shook her arm free, grabbed the side of the hot tub, and
heaved herself out. Paige Williams slips into her hot tub in the blackness of
night—and finds herself face to face with death. Alone, terrified, fleeing a dark past, Paige must make an
unthinkable choice. In Violet Dawn, hurtling events and richly drawn characters
collide in a breathless story of murder, the need to belong,
and faith’s first glimmer. One woman’s secrets unleash an
entire town’s pursuit, and the truth proves as elusive as
the killer in their midst.
