Katherine Templeton journeys to Scotland to discover why
King James has not been ransomed. Sir Gregory sends her to
his wife who has a list of trusted allies. Unfortunately,
his wife has died and Katherine falls into a web of deceit
and trickery.
Ian MacKay rescues the lady, but his aim is to seduce
Katherine into disclosing information he is sure will name
her a spy. He doesn't intend to fall in love, but the tall
Katherine claims his heart. When he discovers she is a
hated Sassenach and it will be impossible to claim her as
his wife, he is torn in two. Katherine escapes and leads
him on a wild chase across Scotland.
Ms. Blair is a true storyteller. She creates a wonderful
seesaw of emotions using bigger than life characters and
pushing the envelope of plot to the fullest. I loved her
use of humor and the skill she displays in developing and
maintaining tension and interest. A worthwhile read.
