When journeying to deliver a specially crafted bed to his
betrothed, Alex Douglas and his men are ambushed by Colin
MacDougall. When he discovers his true betrayer is the
woman he's to marry, Alex curses the MacDougalls with his
dying breath, vowing to haunt them until the end of all
days.
Nearly 700 years later, while escorting a group of ghost-
seeking tourists around England, Mara McDougal discovers an
antique bed in a specialty shop. Although she loves the
bed, there's no way it would fit in her home and leave room
for any other furnishings. When she inherits a Scottish
castle, the bed is one of the first purchases she makes.
Mara has no idea that her bed comes with a ghost, but Alex
makes his presence known in a variety of ways
Alex is determined that no McDougal will know a night of
peace in his bed, yet this particular McDougal may just
change his mind. He delights in tormenting Mara with his
spirited presence, and she's equally determined to ignore
the Hottie Scottie, her pet name for the most handsome man
she's ever encountered, ghostly or living. Their attraction
is mutual and flares sensually out of control, and Mara is
left to wonder about her future with a man long-dead.
Allie MacKay's HIGHLANDER IN HER BED is a sexy,
humor-filled romance with two delightfully amusing
characters in Alex and Mara. Their romance, artfully
blending past and present, is an entertaining read. The
Scottish dialect tripped me up a time or two, but wasn't
too distracting from the well-written story. Readers will
enjoy this one!
Tour guide Mara MacDougall stops at a London antique shop-
and spots perhaps the handsomest bed ever. Then she bumps
into the handsomest man ever. Soon Mara can't forget the
irresistible-if haughty-Highlander. Not even when she
learns that she's inherited a Scottish castle.
Spectral Sir Alexander Douglas has hated the Clan
MacDougall since he was a medieval knight and they tricked
him into a curse-the curse of forever haunting the bed (the
very one that Mara now owns) that was once intended for his
would-be bride. But Mara makes him feel what no other
MacDougall has-a passion that he never knew he'd missed.
