When life brings you back full circle, it might be worth
trying to get your life back on track. At least, that is
what Marlee Stein thought as she returned home to help out
her twin brother, Mick Callen. After being in a tailspin
since the death of her 36 year old husband, Cole, of
lymphatic cancer and the ugly battle with her mother-in-
law, over her daughter, Jo Beth, that was all Marlee wanted.
Although she hadn't planned on flying again. Marlee is left
with little choice when Mick has to go into the hospital
for surgery sooner than expected and her father, Pappy
Jack, is experiencing early stages of Alzheimer's.
Realizing the urgency of the situation, she chooses to help
out by flying and, taking her daughter with her, goes off
to make the air deliveries. Slightly botching her first
landing, she gets off to a nasty start with Wylie Ames, the
park ranger. Meanwhile, Jo Beth enjoys a wonderful time
with his son, Dean, who is just a few years older than her
and has few friends due to their isolated homestead.
Thinking the less she sees of Wylie the better, fate throws
them back together as a crisis happens to a young girl on a
camping trip and a neighboring rancher gets hurt.
Meanwhile, Pappy is trying to warn off Marlee away from
Wylie as his wife disappeared under unexplained
circumstances. Would the same thing happen to her? Yet,
when Dean gets ill and no one knows why, she can't leave
Wylie to handle this on his own.
Roz Denny Fox has a great reputation for crafting strong
heartfelt novels with realistic plots and characters and
this is an outstanding example! After enjoying this book
so much, I was really pleased to know that there will be a
companion book coming out, "On Angel Wings" as a follow-up
story focused on Mick Callen. This is a captivating,
suspenseful tale, not only of the struggles involved in
living and flying in remote Montana, but also in coping
with illness and changing perspectives as people battle
with old and new ideas about each other and themselves. So,
fasten up the seatbelt and get ready for a wonderful read
that will have your heart chasing clouds from up and down!
Former Navy pilot Marlee Stein has only a few simple goals
when she and her young daughter, Jo Beth, move home to
Whitepine, Montana. Help her brother run Cloud Chasers,
their family's charter air service, fly mercy missions for
Angel Fleet, and be a good mother to Jo Beth, who's still
dealing with the loss of her father.
Meeting a man like park ranger Wylie Ames is not one of
those goals. The feeling's mutual; he's not exactly
thrilled with Marlee, either, even though his son, Dean,
is beginning to love Jo Beth and her mother. Gradually a
friendship forms between Wylie and Marlee…and then more.
Surprisingly, wonderfully, more.
Marlee becomes his friend and lover, but when the
unexpected happens, she has to be his angel, too.
