When Iris Hedge left her husband and her home in California
for her dream job in New York, she never imagined that in
five short weeks she'd be unemployed and desperately
agreeing to follow Steve, her best friend's sister's
husband, to see if he's cheating. But a girl's got to pay
the rent. The first thing Iris notices about Steve is that
he isn't nearly as boring looking and stuffy as Val, her
best friend, claims he is. In fact, he's pretty hot for a
business man. The next thing Iris notices is that Steve is
doing exactly what he said he would be doing, jogging in
Central Park.
Although Iris is not a professional, all is going well
until the day she meets Steve face-to-face when she
literally runs into him as she roller blades to keep up
with him. Sparks fly. Iris knows how wrong it is to lust
after this man, so she informs Vicky that she's not going
to follow him anymore. Vicky begs Iris to follow Steve just
one more time and that's when Iris makes the biggest
mistake of all. When Steve rescues her from a cat/dog
scuffle, she thanks him by name, When Steve demands an
explanation, she lets slip that his wife has hired her to
keep an eye on him. They strike a deal where Steve will
give Iris pointers to help Vicky be a better wife. As they
get to know each other better, Iris finds it harder and
harder not to fall for him, and in turn decides he must be
a creep because he seems attracted to her, too.
Chockfull of delightful characters, IT'S ABOUT YOUR HUSBAND
is a lively, fun read that only gets better as the story
progresses. Watching Iris follow Steve, come to terms with
her divorce and find her place in New York City will keep
you entertained all the way to the surprise twist at the
end. I definitely recommend reading this one.

back to normal—and if normal is anything she’ll ever be
happy with.
