Allison Holloway has always believed she's destined to be
a princess. The only thing she needs to achieve that goal
is to find her Prince Charming. Having gone through a lot
of frogs, Allison is ready for him to show up. When the
Chicago design company she works for signs up to be on a
reality show called Kamikaze Makeover!, which pits design
teams against each other in an "Iron Chef" kind of way,
Allison's prince arrives with it.
Though it takes another man to make Allison tingle, she's
determined to catch her prince and the fame and fortune
that come with him. Once the design show premieres
though, Allison's world comes crashing back to reality.
The episodes are edited in such a manner that no matter
how you look at it, Allison and her team come off as
looking like anything but professionals. Then there's the
scandal involving the prince that has made the press's
newest darling into the tabloid's newest victim. With no
thoughts but to escape the humiliation, Allison figures it
can only go up from here. Guess she didn't factor in the
possibility of getting into a pudding wrestling match.
You would think a book about a rich, spoiled, wannabe
princess wouldn't be all that entertaining to read; so
imagine my surprise when I became so engrossed in this
book, I missed dinner. Allison's character is funny,
quirky and quite flawed. Basically she could be any one
of us. The supporting cast is full of interesting
characters that'll have you laughing out loud. Chick-lit
fans are going to love this book. And if you're just
looking for something different to give yourself a little
pick me up, give REALITY TV BITES a try. Life always
looks better when you're reading about someone else's
miseries.
Allison Holloway may be one of the last holdouts: a true
reality TV junkie. (Hey, there's no shame in admitting you
enjoy watching The Donald say You're Fired! for the
millionth time) But when her boss signs up their interior
design firm for Kamikaze Makeover, Allison knows things
are never going to be the same again.
Dozens of cameras are set to tape every embarrassing
moment as two teams compete for 3 million dollars by
executing a bold design concept using unorthodox materials
(sex toys, anyone?). As if that wasn't bad enough, a hunky
producer tries to seduce Allison with fine champagne and
limo rides, an equally hunky Dave wants to introduce her
to the finer things in his life like beer and basketball
games, a piranha-like press hound her day and night, and
let's not forget the vibrator wall art. Will Allison ever
get her life back? Will she finally find her prince after
kissing so many frogs?
