Elizabeth Taylor, Betsy to her friends, is kind of getting
the hang of being the Vampire Queen after six months at the
job. Her consort, Sinclair, is still the hottest of
hotties, her best friend Jessica is still rich as a sultan
and very generous and things are going pretty well, even if
most of vampirekind think she needs to do more to earn
their respect. Then she learns her stepmother (or
stepmonster, as Betsy calls her) is pregnant, and not for
the first time. She had a child once before, but left it as
a foundling at the hospital. That means Betsy has a
stepsister out there somewhere. Then she learns the
stepsister is actually the daughter of Satan -- and is
destined to take over the world. Plus, she does some
reading in the book of the dead, which causes a temporary
change of personality and the gaining of more powers. Again.
Ah, Betsy Taylor, we love you. No matter what you come up
against, you never say die. Of course, that's because
you've learned it's a lost cause. I loved this installment
of the Betsy and Sinclair show. Each book just gets better
and better, and I already can't wait for the next one. What
can I say? Betsy rocks. And you'll love Laura. An excellent
read!
Most women would love to live as royalty, but Betsy has
found that being vampire queen has more problems than perks,
except for always being awake for Midnight Madness sales. It
may be easy to find blood (yuck) in the dark of night, but
try finding a strawberry smoothie. And employees at her
nightclub Scratch have been giving her nothing but grief
since she killed their former boss. Some people...
But Betsy's "life" takes an interesting turn at a baby
shower for her wicked stepmother, who lets it slip that
Betsy has a long-lost half sister. Now twenty years old,
this woman just so happens to be the devil's daughter...and
destined to rule the world.
