Lil Marchette is truly a vampire of the times. There's no
drab black for this New Yorker; she's into shades of pink,
high fashion, romance and cosmos. Lil has a talent for
matchmaking, and she's decided to turn her gift into a
business. Dead End Dating (DED) matchmaking service is sure
to be a hit, if she can just find a few clients.
Enter super-geek vampire Francis Deville of the Devilles,
one of the oldest vampire families around. Lil knows if she
can match Francis (after some serious revamping, of course.
The scariest thing he can change into is an Old Italian
grandma!), then DED will be a huge hit in the vampire
community.
Just as things are getting started, bounty hunter vampire
Ty Bonner shows up, looking for a serial killer using
dating services to meet his victims. While Lil is sure
she'd never have a serial killer as a client (she's pretty
good at reading minds), she's more than willing to assist
hunky Ty, even though he's totally wrong for her. He's
a "made" vampire, rather than a "born" vampire, which means
he's sterile, so there'll be no baby vamps for him.
Spending time with Ty as they search for the serial killer
(in between checking out prospective matches for
Francis...including werewolves) has Lil rethinking her
opinion of him.
DEAD END DATING is the first in a new series by Raye
(upcoming titles are DEAD & DATELESS, and ONE BITE STAND).
Her talent for humor is evident throughout, and she's
created several entertaining characters. The plot moves
quickly throughout, but even so, I felt everyone was a bit
too human to be vampire.
A matchmaking vampire, Countess Lilliana Arabella
Guinevere du Marchette (aka Lil). Soon after opening her
new dating service for vampires (because even the undead
need love!), Lil gets involved with sexy Ty Bonner, a
vampire and bounty hunter whose investigation of a series
of murders leads him to Dead End Dating. Can Lil help Ty
find the murderer before he kills again and ruins her new
business entirely?
