Alexandra Larchmont graces society events with her presence

entertainment. At one soiree, Alexandra stumbles upon a man
from her past, Colin Oliver. Terrified that he'll recognize
her as the grubby street urchin who tried to pick his
pocket, Alexandra flees the ballroom. She hides in a
deserted room where she overhears a plot for a murder.

they work together to uncover the truth. Alexandra sees
danger, betrayal and death in the cards for Colin and she
refuses to leave his side. As they investigate, they become
lovers, even knowing it can't last.
NEVER A LADY commands readers' attention from the first
page as an undercurrent of pending disaster permeates the
story. The suspense never lets up making this tale
impossible to put down. This is definitely Ms.
D'Alessandro's finest story to date.
Colin Oliver, Viscount Sutton, left his beloved Cornwall
