A note from Marie Bostwick...

"When A SINGLE THREAD, the first of my Cobbled Court novels, was released I was humbled and a little surprised by the flood of email and letters that came in from readers.

But maybe I shouldn't have been.

The lion's share of those notes came from readers who could
relate deeply to the story of Evelyn Dixon and the other
characters who spend their time at the Cobbled Court quilt
shop because their sister, or their mother, or their best
friend, or they themselves, had battled breast cancer - just
like Evelyn - and wanted to share their experiences with me.
Some told stories of courage and triumph. Others told
stories of courage and loss. All of them touched my heart
and many brought tears to my eyes. So many stories. Too
many stories.

Through treatment and research, great strides have been made
in the fight against breast cancer, but the battle is not
yet won. Sadly, the incidence of breast cancer among women
is still one in eight. That's too many.

And so, in October, Breast Cancer Awareness Month, if you
haven't done so recently, I urge you to make an appointment
for a mammogram. Better yet, make two. One for you. One
for a friend. Come on! Do it! Afterwards you can go out
for lunch together. It'll be fun!
