If you could meet one of your characters in real life, who would you choose and what would you do?

So many to choose from! But I think Ford Maddox, from SANDPIPER ISLAND. I want to hang out in his treehouse home and help him rescue puffins on his remote island off the coast of Maine. Sigh...

What gets your creative juices flowing when you’re brainstorming a new story?

For me it’s driving and hiking. I live in the gorgeous Blue Ridge Mountains of Virginia, right off the Blue Ridge Parkway and the Appalachian Trial. Depending on the day/weather/mood, a drive down the Parkway or a hike on the AT allows my brain to wander while the scenery sweeps me away as the brainstorming begins. Works every time.

Which part of Readers & ‘ritas are you most excited about? 

I was so excited to see that there will be craft rooms! In my “other life” I run a craft business and have been a craft instructor most of my life (my mom owned a craft store, so it’s in my bones.) Talk about match made! I am so excited to play with paper, scissors, and glue, making handcrafted bookmarks with some of my favorite people: READERS! We will have a blast.

We’re all romantics here, so we need to know—what is your all-time favorite love story?

In my case, it’s a real love story. My parents just celebrated their 64th wedding anniversary. Their love story has been such an inspiration for me, personally and professionally. I want to be them when I grow up.
