Everyone seems to have their own favorite scary animal. How can an animal that's
scary be their favorite? It's the one they post pictures about on Facebook. It's
the one they run from the house when they see one. It's the one they have
nightmares about.
I have three boys in the house. 2 actual kids (11 and 14 so they're not tiny any
longer) and one husband. None of them like spiders. They freak when they see a
spider. For some reason, they like to live in the powder room and in our TV
room. My husband even bought spider traps. Did you know there was such a thing?
Yeah, me neither.
I am not afraid of spiders. While I wouldn't want them crawling over me in bed,
I collect them in cups and carry them outside. I don't squish them. I don't
stand on the couch and scream. I don't buy spider traps.
What's my favorite scary animal? A snake. Not just one, but all of them. Every
single one. If I found one in my house, I'd have to move. Done. As we live in
the Wild Wild West, there are rattlesnakes. They are off the bike/walking trails
here, sometimes on them sunning themselves. My son and I rode our bikes right by
one over the summer. My warning to my boys (because they are boys), that if they
have to pee while hiking, to do it on the trail. DON'T GO OFF THE TRAIL!
You can't say that to someone who's afraid of spiders. Don't go off the trail or
a spider will attack! Whatever. Although, my boys think that's the case for the
powder room toilet.
What's your scary animal?
Who doesn't love the romance of the old West? Vanessa Vale takes the
sensual appeal of rugged cowboys a step further with her bestselling books set
in the Montana Territory. They are much more than just sexy historical westerns.
By introducing sexual taboos into this otherwise traditional romantic setting,
Vanessa has won the loyalty of a fan base that never knows quite what to expect
with each new series.
"Montana Maidens" was the first to push the envelope
with strong BDSM themes. "Montana Men" followed suit with softer themes but lots
of deliciously graphic sex. "The Bridgewater Series" showcases ménage
relationships because sometimes one hot cowboy isn't enough. No-holds-barred,
graphic descriptions, strong storytelling, engaging characters and breathtaking
landscapes all combine to make very naughty reads.
And as a resident of
Wild Wild West, Vanessa Vale finds plenty of inspiration for her work, for who
doesn't love a handsome cowboy?
