The latest buzz for readers, authors and the curious...

Love to read ROMANCE? Want FREE(ISH)** BOOKS?

If you said yes to both questions, please consider signing up to judge The Carolyn Readers Choice Award contest.

The North Texas chapter of Romance Writers of America is looking for approximately 250-300 romance readers to help choose winners in five romance sub-categories. To be eligible, you must be 18 years of age or older and not affiliated with the publishing industry in any way, to include being an aspiring author.

Judging involves reading up to five books in their entirety and filling out an online score sheet.

Contest closes for entries on February 14, 2016 and judging panels will be emailed out sometime starting February 21st. Judging deadline is April 14th.

For more information and to sign up, visit the.carolyn.judge.info. If you have any further questions, contact Clover Autrey and/or Jen FitzGerald, the contest coordinators at [email protected].

Please feel free to forward the opportunity to any family or friends you think might be interested.

Thanks so much.

Hi Clover Autrey and Jen FitzGerald: I would love to be a
judge or even just a proof reader if needed for The Carolyn
Readers Choice Award contest of the North Texas Chapter of
Romance Writers of America. I am retired and more or less bed
bound so all I do do is read off my laptop.
I read all genres but lean more towards historical and
paranormal first and then contemp. I am not, nor are any of my
family associated with nor affiliated with the publishing
industry in any way or inspiring to be an author, but I do
have a few author friends on FB (if that doesnt count). I
think since I have been reading for the past 55 yrs that I am
exempt from the 18 and over rule too...lol

I usually read in pdf form as I find to scroll down on the lap
is easier then 'click page, click page.... But do have quite a
few (over 12,00) Kindle/mobi books from Amazon.ca that read
from also. I use Calibre to convert HTML, lit and epub.

Well as I said I would be honoured to review/judge any works
up for the The Carolyn Readers Choice Award and am able to be
discreet and not blab all over my findings to anyone (wink,
wink). Hope to hear from you soon.

Cheers Net.

I love to read, 27 books in one week is something that
happens a lot. Would love to take part, but am trying to
dip my toe in the water as an aspiring writer.Note the
aspiring. So anyway else I can join to read all these
fantastic new books by the truckloads?

I love to read I can read at times 2 books at a time I read on my kindle and paperback, I'm 62 so way over 18 and I love reading before I head off to work and afterwards rather than watching TV. thanks for the chance to win free books who wouldn't want free books!

I absolutely love to read. I meet the age requirement since I'm about to
turn 48. I would consider it an honor to participate in judge these books.
