Thanks so much for inviting me to join you today as I celebrate the release of
the
final book in the Bash trilogy.
I write several series within the same paranormal universe, one of which focuses
on
the wolves who don’t want to join the local pack. They exist as lone wolves, and
some of them have formed a motorcycle club. The Pack is run under complete
control
of the Alpha, while the MC votes for the big stuff, and sometimes the small
details
as well. I got my feet wet as I explored the whole antihero thing with the first
two
books in the
Rolling Thunder Motorcycle Club series — DUKE and BRAIN — but
then I jumped all in with BASH’s story. He’s an unapologetic bad-ass, but sometimes the
bad-boys can be so much fun. Especially in fiction.
One of my trademarks is strong women and even stronger men. Most of the women in
my
books are capable of taking care of themselves, and Angelica is no shrinking
violet.
However, Bash still likes to take care of her, which leads to the ice cream.
I asked the wonderful ladies in my Kinksters group for a unique ice cream flavor,
and as always they came through for me. Angelica spends time in New England
before
returning to the south, and my readers educated me about a uniquely northern
treat –
Grape Nuts Ice Cream.
Angelica discovers this new flavor while away at college and it becomes her
favorite. Imagine her disappointment when she returns home and discovers it can’t
be
bought anywhere in the south.
So what does Bash do when Angelica has a particularly hard couple of days? He
buys
an ice cream maker and makes it for her.
Grape-Nuts Ice Cream
- 1 cup whole milk
- 2 cups heavy cream
- ¾ cups sugar
- Pinch of salt
- 8 ounces (1 package) cream cheese, cubed
- 5 large egg yolks
- 1 teaspoon vanilla extract
- 1 cup Grape-Nuts cereal
1. Heat the milk, sugar, salt, and half the heavy cream in a saucepan
until
it starts to steam.
2. In a separate, medium-sized bowl, combine the remaining heavy cream and
the cream cheese. Set a mesh strainer over the top and set the bowl in an ice
bath.
3. In another medium-sized bowl, whisk the egg yolks. Gradually pour the
warm
milk mixture into the yolks, whisking constantly as you pour. When all of the
milk
is in the eggs, scrape the yolk/milk combination into the saucepan.
Cook over low heat, stirring constantly until the custard thickens enough to coat
the spatula. Make sure not to overcook or cook too quickly or you'll scramble the
eggs.
4. When ready, strain the custard into the bowl of heavy cream and cream
cheese and stir until smooth. Stir in the vanilla.
5. Refrigerate until thoroughly chilled (3-4 hours), then process in your
ice-cream maker according to the manufacturer’s instructions. Once churned,
quickly
fold in the Grape-Nuts.
What’s your favorite ice cream flavor? Mine is mint-chocolate-chip, bonus points
if
it’s over a warm brownie, with hot fudge over the top.

Book three of the Bash trilogy…
Will Angelica save herself, or will she have to be saved? Either way, knowing
what
Bud and Bash are capable of, do we want to know the repercussions?
Follow Bash, Angelica, and the rest of the MC for the exciting conclusion.
This is the final installment of a three book story, with a happy ending and no
cliffhangers.
