Hey all! Like any writer, I started off as a reader and romance novels were (and
still are) my fa-vorites. So what is it that I love about reading romance? So glad
you asked. :)
1. The flip flop your stomach makes when you read the scene where the hero and
heroine finally realize there’s more between them then the case/the problem/the on-
the-surface loathing.
2. The thrill of vicariously adventures—in romance and in dangerous
situations.
3. The moments when you clench you teeth to stop the tears because the dark
moment is so damn dark.
4. The ideas you get from the naughty bits. The Fab Mr. Flynn loves when I
read romance. :)
5. The you-go-girl power rush when the heroine overcomes the odds because in
romance, the heroine always wins.
6. The oh-man sniffles when the hero confesses his deep dark secret and shows
the softie un-derneath all those muscles.
7. The giggles and more caused by the heated banter between the hero and
heroine.
8. The good humored back and forth between the heroine and her closest
friends.
9. The peek into the vast mystery of the male mind.
10. The happy endings that make you forget all about the crazy in your own
life and let you have a moment of wasn’t-that-awesome before you reach for the next
book.
So that’s my top 10 list. And since I write what I love to read, it’s what I hope
you’ll experience when you read Designed for Murder or any of my books. :)
Award-winning romance author Avery Flynn has three slightly-wild children, loves a
hockey-addicted husband and is desperately hoping someone invents the coffee IV drip.
She loves to write about smartass alpha heroes who are as good with a quip as they
are with their *ahem* oth-er God-given talents. Her heroines are feisty, fierce and
fantastic. Brainy and brave, these ladies know how to stand on their own two feet and
knock the bad guys off theirs.

Some fashion statements can kill...
Mika Ito combines her two favorite things in life—textile design and live-action
role-playing (LARP)—by creating costumes for her fellow Magic Battledome gamers.
Lately, someone's been assaulting LARPers and stealing their costumes. Concerned for
the safety of her friends, Mika hires Maltese Security...only to discover that the
lead investigator is the super-hot stranger she just hooked up with.
Carlos Castillo is all too familiar with Magic Battledome. A former legend in role-
playing circles, he was all about gaming, until things went very, very wrong for him.
Now he's forced to return to the game undercover—as Mika's boyfriend—to find some
answers. Only playing “boyfriend” with his gorgeous one-night stand is more
temptation than a guy can withstand...
Someone wants the costumes enough to kill for them. And when it comes to murder,
nothing is what it seems...
