Hello, I’m Linda Gilman, and I’m addicted to writing romance – especially humorous historical romance! Sadly, there are so few funny western romances available, so I decided to write some, and I’ve had a blast doing it! My very first book is THE COURTSHIP OF UTOPIA MINOR. This book, the first in my Gold Rush series, is about a young woman who sees the “glamorous life” of Gold Rush town Saloon Girls and wants to learn how to become one…but she needs lessons, right? Especially KISSING lessons.

Enter the hero, Lancelot (yes, just like the Arthurian knight) who wants to leave the dangerous life of a US Marshall behind and just write quality news articles as a journalist.

Well, his very first assignment sends him to Utopia Miner, her three fathers, and straight into a hair-brained courtship contest.

Yes, I went all out on this one because I wanted the story to be sexy, fun, and worth all that research I had to do on the American West – and there was a lot. I learned more than I expected to learn, and I couldn’t help but find myself admiring the men and women who made the Wild West their home.

Hopefully, when you have the chance to read THE COURTSHIP OF UTOPIA MINOR, you’ll see what a BLAST I had writing it, and you’ll love it enough to stick with the series. I’m working on book two now, and can’t wait to share more with you all.

In the meantime, I am finishing up a two-week virtual book tour, and would love for you to pop in and visit with me and my awesome blog hosts.

About Linda Gilman

Linda Gilman is known for writing humorous western romance novels. Her stories are centered on independent, strong-willed women, and courageous heroes who always protect the innocent without violating their personal code of conduct. It’s the cowboy west readers are so enamored with and a twist of zany plot. From first page to last, her books are loaded with pain-in-your-side laughable moments.

She has a deep love of the American gold rush era and often uses this as an excuse to do book research and travel to ghost towns in the western states.

Born into a city girl life, her parents raised her in St. Louis County. However, Linda has always felt her country girl roots calling her to move west young woman. She currently lives in rural Missouri with her hubby and the oldest of her three sons. She enjoys spending time with her three grandchildren and soon will have a fourth grandbaby in the family. Her household also has a hyper golden doodle named Dory, who can greet visitors for hours.

THE COURTSHIP
OF
UTOPIA MINOR

About THE COURTSHIP OF UTOPIA MINOR

Utopia Miner is tired of hunting gold and caring for her three adopted fathers. Living in a Rocky Mountain mining camp is holding up her dream of becoming a saloon girl. If only she could learn the essential skills of singing, dancing and kissing, she’d be on her way to a glamorous life. When Utopia discovers she’s the prize in her three fathers’ marrying scheme, she sees benefits in going along with the courting contest. She now has a kissing teacher. And wow, what a teacher. One starter kiss from Lance and her body’s sweating in places it never had before.

Lancelot Jones wants to turn in his life-risking marshal’s badge for a much safer job as a reporter, but the newspaper wants articles as proof of his qualifications. When his editor sends him to a mining camp to get the scoop on a courtship contest, Lance discovers the privilege of covering the story hinges upon chaperoning the bride-to-be. He soon finds himself ensconced in Utopia’s innocent charms and demanding saloon girl lessons. In short order, chaperoning the bride-to-be becomes risky business.

I've never read a humorous Romance novel. It would certainly make it somewhat interesting. Good for you! Thank You

My favorite genre is science fiction, because of the make-me-
go hmmm! ideas. But I do read anything and everything, and
some of my favorite books are not science fiction.

I have so many favorite genres. In no particular order:

My reading habits tend to go a bit all over the map as they
say. I always love learning something, so when you came here
today, I was jumping for joy!! To pick a favorite genre, how
can you narrow down learning, when you have so many
favorites?? I read Romance to Historical Romance to
Biography to Historical. The main thing for me is that I
love to learn something from reading. In between, I love to
be entertained, when my reading load gets to heavy, and it
tends to be heavy after a while. Your latest book sounds
like a wonderful read, and I've put it on my TBR list. It
should make great reading for my upcoming Fall/Winter
reading. Thank you for coming today and letting us know
about your latest book. I will also keep my eyes peeled for
the rest of your series!!
