Thanks for having me here today to celebrate the release of CRASHED, the first book in my Axle Alley Vipers series! The series is centered around three women who have known each other since they were very young and their extremely close friendship (of course finding the loves of their lives is thrown in there too! ;-)

I don’t know what I’d do without my friends. I have women in my life that I’ve been close to since high school. My best friend since I was six years old. And through writing, and the internet, I’ve met amazing women that have become extremely important to me, and though we don’t see each other very often—or in some cases may never meet in person—we talk almost every day.

When I decided to write the Axle Alley Vipers series, I didn’t know a heck of a lot. The plot was still a mystery, and the heroes of each book were still a little hazy. But I did know two things. I knew the books were going to be about three women running their own auto repair/classic car restoration business, and that those women were best friends. I wanted them to have a history, be able to talk about anything. Be silly and immature when they were in the mood, and at times encourage each other to do crazy things! I wanted Alex, Rusty and Piper to know each other’s deepest fears, their happiest moments. To have each other’s backs. And I wanted some of their interactions to add lightness to the story, maybe a little comic relief from the angst and emotion the main couple were going through.

I wanted to show how important it is to have women like that in your life!

Hopefully I have achieved that! I definitely had a lot of fun with them.

Rusty grinned. “Well, is the dude hung or what?”

Alex was in the middle of drinking her soda and sucked her mouthful down the wrong way. Piper jumped up and pounded on her back.

Alex scowled at Rusty, who was now giggling her ass off. Her friend shrugged. “What? Piper wants to know as well.”

“She does not.” Giving her friends intimate details of their brother’s anatomy did not sit well with her. Not at all. They’d be scarred for life if they ever found out it was Deacon she was seeing.

“Well, yeah, I kinda do,” Piper said as she took her seat again.

Alex stood and stomped to the door. “Enough talk about my sex life. Go get one of your own.” She pulled the door open. “And if you ask me how hung he is one more time, I’ll stick dead rats in both your beds.” There. Ha! She spun around and slammed on the breaks, mouth dropping open. A customer stood there, eyes round as saucers. “Shit. Um…I mean…what I meant to say was…” She took a steadying breath. “Your car’s ready, Mr. Porter. Please follow me.”

Her friends’ barely restrained laughter followed her as she went to grab the guy’s keys.

How about you? Do you love strong female friendships in your romance novels?

About Sherrilee Gray

Sherilee’s always had a big (some may say warped) imagination, and as a kid scared herself conjuring up horror stories full of ghosts and other terrifying creatures. As she got older the stories changed quite a bit, but they were always there. Still, she never dreamed of actually writing down any of those wonderful imaginary people or places. Not until many years later when her sister introduced her to the wondrous world of romance novels, and her very large book collection.

She’s pleased to say, she still has the big imagination and monsters in her stories… only now they’re chasing their happily ever after.

Sherilee Gray is a kiwi girl and lives in beautiful NZ with her extremely supportive husband and their two children. When not writing or fueling her voracious book addiction, she can be found dreaming of far off places with a mug of tea in one hand and a bar of Cadburys Rocky Road chocolate in the other.

About CRASHED

She swore never to trust him again...

Fiery mechanic Alexandra Franco should have known better. Years ago, her best friends' older brother took her virginity and broke her heart-or rather, doused it with gasoline, lit a match, and then walked away. And Alex definitely should not have indulged in another hot night with him after the fact. He's not the same boy she fell for, and she sure as hell doesn't want anything to do with the wealthy, ruthless man he's become.

Walking away from Alex was the biggest mistake of Deacon West's life. She belongs with him, and if getting her back means playing dirty, so be it. If she'll grant him a three-month, no-strings affair, he won't sell the building Alex and his sisters use for their auto repair business. Hell, he'll even sign it over to them. But will Alex ever entrust her heart to him again, or are they destined to crash and burn?

Re: Sherilee Gray | A Little Help From My Friends

I've read books where women were friends, but it was more
like acquaintances. I found your book to be not only
amusing, but very refreshing, and am looking forward to
reading it. I've already put it on my TBR list. It should
make for a great Romance with just the right touch of humor
in spots to keep it light and round out my Summer reading.
Congratulations on your latest book, and I'm sure it's going
to do very well!!
