DEATH IN BRITTANY

DEATH IN BRITTANY

I love traveling, over the years it's been either the reason I took a job or I've found excuses, or reasons to travel as part of an assignment. I'm also fond of lots of suspense in my reading. So I was more than pleased to find DEATH IN BRITTANY, a new mystery set in a small town in France with descriptions of Brittany so picturesque I need to find a reason to go have a coffee and perhaps a croissant. Oh, yes, the character of Dupin is delicious -- grouchy but he gets the job done.

INK AND BONE

INK AND BONE

The Great Library of Alexandria, alchemy, a dystopian world where knowledge is valued above human life, plus it's written by Rachel Caine! I cannot wait to sneak away to a quiet place, away from the summer heat and noise, and disappear into the amazing and terrifying world of INK AND BONE.

SIREN'S CALL

SIREN'S CALL

Jayne Castle is one of my favorite authors and SIREN'S CALL is the fourth book of her Rainshadow series. I love the fact that she brings back some of her old characters while introducing new ones. Each of her characters have a different paranormal talent that is explored throughout the book. And I absolutely adore the dust bunnies!

THRILL ME

THRILL ME

I enjoy small town stories, and THRILL ME by Susan Mallery is a continuation of her Fool's Gold series. While Fool's Gold is a small town, Mallery has found a way to expand the town and the population in a smooth transition...not just willy-nilly jobs popping up to add new residents, yet she manages to keep the heart of the town and the quaintness that made readers fall in love with Fool's Gold. While we don't necessarily get to see all the old residents we get enough peeks into their lives to keep us satisfied that they're happy and thriving, and that the new residents will be a good fit for a long happy life in Fool's Gold.
