One of the fun elements of reading is sharing great books and authors to a friend. I'm always asking for
recommendations for new science fiction and fantasy romance novels, so I'd like to end each month of
Worlds Away with a focus on one author's work. If you'd like me to check out your favorite series or
author, send me a note and I'll take a look. Below are three series by Eve Langlais that snagged my
attention. So good! Have you tried these books yet?
This series. Oh my gosh! I don't know how Eve Langlais came up
with the plot, but sexy cyborgs and Earth girls were an amazing combo. There's action and the mystery
of the cyborg race that runs the length of the series, but the various couples are deserving of the HEA
they eventually find. It's a consistently well-written series that shouldn't be missed. This book is the final
in the series, but don't be shy and start with the first book, C791, which you can find on Fresh Fiction.
About: Being a cyborg
was so much better when all his parts worked. Avion’s nanotechnology stopped functioning after some
experimentation done on him by the military. They broke him and now, Avion is no better than a
human, even more annoying, he’s dying.
But at least he completed his final mission. He saved, One.
Mysterious and alluring, Avion isn’t the only person who wonders what surprises this woman hides. The
human military and their alien allies fear what she’s capable of and will stop at nothing to destroy her.
However, the one thing they didn’t take into account is that the cyborgs always protect their own, and
they aren’t afraid to use deadly force.
And no one could imagine the depths One will stoop to in order to protect the man she loves.
Eve's newest series takes you into the world of fantasy, where
shifters abound and unsuspecting women await. The first novel is hilarious and sexy, a perfect
combination that keeps this genre fresh.
About: A lion’s pride isn’t
defined only by those he commands but also resides with his hair, so when a human dares to butcher
Arik’s mane, he gets his revenge—and claims her as his mate.
A billionaire CEO and leader of the largest East Coast pride, Arik is a ladies man and a lion. Used to
commanding others, and obedience, he can’t believe it when a hairdresser with tempting curves chops
off a hunk of his precious mane.
But her biggest mistake is in running from him.
Run as fast as you can, little mouse, because this cat loves to chase—and pounce.
Oh, and he also likes to nibble on tender bits. What he doesn’t expect is to fall for a human woman, a
woman who can make the impossible happen because everyone knows lions can’t purr…until now.
This series also combines humor, hot aliens, and heroines to root
for. I had several laugh out loud moments reading Dyre's attempts at being a hero. His heart's in the
right place, but the poor guy needs a lesson in leaving well enough alone.
About: Prepare to laugh,
because this new purple hunk will do anything to be her knight in purple armor.
He is determined to save her, whether she likes it or not!
Bucking family tradition, Dyre is determined to become his planet's first hero, even if it breaks his
mother's heart. He sets out on numerous quests to save the universe, however his altruism never seems
to turn out quite as expected. Who knew doing the right thing was so hard?
In between saving those who don't want his help--and the chaos that follows--he rescues a damsel in
distress. She doesn't appreciate his heroic abduction, and even worse, once Dyre gets to know the
outspoken human, he entertains less than noble thoughts about ravishing her.
It takes only a couple of comical mishaps, some hot kisses and danger for Dyre and Betty to discover
their happily ever after--and thank the stars for a heroine who ends up saving this hero, and the galaxy,
from his chivalrous side.
