Between planning our Valentine’s Day events and preparing for the premiere of
the most anticipated romance film of the year, it has been a busy week for Fresh Fiction Local.
Here is the scoop on this week's activities!
WFAA Literary Contributor and Fresh Fiction co-creator Gwen Reyes attended the
Fifty Shades of Grey Press Screening last night, and she deemed the
film "wicked and delightful". Read her review here before you see the film, which opens tonight.
Catch Gwen on Good Morning Texas at 9 am CST tomorrow (2-13) as she discusses
all things Shades before a live studio audience. If you are in the
Dallas area, there is still time to join the crowd. (For you Princess Bride fans out
there, Mandy Patinkin will also be in the studio for tomorrow's show, so you
will want to be there!)
Fresh Fiction Local is hosting two special screenings of Fifty Shades of
Grey in Dallas this month. Our sold-out premiere screening starts tonight
at 8 pm, where fans will be among the first in the country to see the film. Here
is a sneak peek at the swag bags for tonight's screening, which include custom
grey ties, chocolate roses, and six spicy reads inside a special edition tote,
sponsored by Normandie Alleman.
If you missed your chance to sign up for the premiere screening, never fear.
There is still time to buy tickets for Fresh Fiction Local's second screening at
Alamo Drafthouse in Richardson. The 2 pm movie screening on February 22 will be
immediately followed by a panel discussion led by erotica experts, including
author Sidney Bristol
and practicing members of a local BDSM club.
For those who prefer sweet over sexy for their Valentine weekend plans, Fresh
Fiction Local is also hosting a Valentine's Day luncheon at The Chocolate Angel
Cafe and Tea Room in Plano. Though all spots are filled for this special event,
you can still join Fresh Fiction Local for one of our many teas and events in
the months to come. For more information about our events, check us out on Meetup. We hope to see
you soon!
If you are not in the Dallas area, you can still join the conversation on
Twitter using #FiftyShadesDallas, #FFtea, and #FFbclub. And be sure to tune in
online tomorrow (2-13) at 12 pm CST for our She Said, He Said Spreecast to hear Gwen Reyes and Crave
Online's William Bibbiani discuss the Fifty Shades film adaptation from
different gender perspectives. There is plenty to keep us busy this holiday
week, and we hope you will join us in spreading the love!
