Jennifer Bray-Weber's Swashbuckling Cocktails

Pirates love to drink liquor. Especially one wily pirate—Henri—in my Romancing the Pirate series. He has a fancy for bows in his beard and an insatiable appetite for rum. And he gets downright grumpy without his nip. But in the spirit of the season, he'd like to share a cocktail favorite aptly named The Henry.

Ingredients:

1 oz. Captain Morgan's Spiced Rum (a pirate's rum, of course)

1/2 oz. amaretto (yum!)

5 oz. cola

Combine rum and amaretto in an ice-filled shaker. Shake well. Strain into an old-fashioned/rocks glass. Fill with cola.

If you landlubbers are looking or something to warm up with, try the spicy and sweet Cinnamon Toast.

Ingredients:

1 1/4 oz. Captain Morgan's Spiced Rum

6 oz. hot apple cider

Rim and old-fashioned glass with cinnamon and sugar. Add hot cider and rum. Enjoy!
