Binge-Worthy YA Series

For the last week and a half, I’ve had a head cold. The type that makes every part of the body ache and getting out of bed a Herculean struggle. I stayed home a few days, burrowed into my blankets, and browsed the internet aimlessly. I kept reading articles about the best shows to binge-watch: Gilmore Girls, The Young Indiana Jones Chronicles, Dexter, House of Cards, Games of Thrones. Granted I love a good TV show, but I wanted a list for best book series to binge-read. I’m not advocating everyone stop going to class, or work, or getting out of bed in order to read, but hey, if you’re sick and already in bed, it’d be nice to have a wonderful series to keep you company, right?

That’s why as the temperatures plummet and flu season gears up this week’s list is all about binge-worthy book series.

THRONE OF GLASS by Sarah J. Maas

THRONE OF
GLASS THRONE OF GLASS

The Throne of Glass series by Sarah J. Maas is about 18- year-old assassin Celaena Sardothien. She’s served hard time in the salt mines of Endovier for her crimes, competed for the Crown Prince in a deadly contest to become the new royal assassin, and discovered a hidden ancestry that could explain her deadly abilities. Fresh Fiction reviewer Samantha Randolph has called this series intense, breathtaking, stunning, and powerful. Throne of Glass is definitely a series that will leave you eager for the next one.

I HUNT KILLERS by Barry Lyga

I HUNT
KILLERS I HUNT KILLERS

I HUNT KILLERS is about Jasper (Jazz) Dent a rather charming teenager who is also the son of the world’s most infamous serial killer. Jazz has seen more than his share of crime scenes firsthand. Even with his dad in jail, Jazz can’t stop hearing his father’s advice. To prove that murder doesn’t run in the family, Jazz helps the police hunt down serial killers. but he’s not convinced that he’s all that different than his dad.

I HUNT KILLERS is intense, graphic, brutal and chilling. This trilogy isn’t for the faint of heart or those on the squeamish side. The content is disturbing, complex, and riveting, but for those who want an intense thriller with a remarkable protagonist, I Hunt Killers is a gripping trilogy that will leave you emotionally drained.

PREP SCHOOL CONFIDENTIAL by Kara Taylor

PREP SCHOOL CONFIDENTIAL PREP SCHOOL CONFIDENTIAL

Prep School Confidential is a mystery series following amateur, teen sleuth Anne Dowling. Anne can’t help but get into trouble. She’s too curious and determined not to. Fresh Fiction reviewer Samantha Randolph says “Kara Taylor harnesses the spot on voice of a teenage narrator who just wants to get down to the bottom of things and help the world feel a little safer all while enjoying the excitement and puzzle of it more than a little.” Each book in the series features a new mystery for Anne and her friends to solve and the preppy Wheatley School.
