Good news "Fargo" fans. Dontcha know, the show is coming back for a second
season for 10 episodes. The "Emmy" nominated miniseries was a slam-dinger for
the cable network this spring, so it comes as no surprise that FX would want to
slip into bed with the show again.
"We could not be more proud of 'Fargo,'" said FX CEO John Landgraf. "Noah's
[Hawley] audacious, bordering on hubristic riff on my favorite Coen brother film
earned 18 'Emmy' nominations -- the most for a single program in our history.
'Fargo' was nothing short of breathtaking and we look forward to the next
installment."
The first season premiered in the spring of 2014, but there is no word yet from
FX about a premiere date, a cast make up, or a crime plot. The show will take
place in a new time period from the 2014 episodes. The debut season
starred Billy Bob Thorton
as Lorne and Martin Freeman as Lester, but neither actor is expected to return
for the second season.
FX is a huge fan of the "anthology" model and "Fargo" will join "American Horror
Story" in the tradition of limited-run, closed ended storytelling for which the
network is becoming known.
You can catch up on all episodes of "Fargo" on
Amazon and iTunes.
