It was announced this morning during the NBC portion of the Television Critics Association summer press tour in Beverly Hills, California that the network has finally found the perfect Captain Hook for their second foray into live musical performance. Christopher Walken ("Jersey Boys") will play Captain Hook for NBC's "Peter Pan," a live musical event that was announced earlier this year hot on the heels of the success of the Carrie Underwood-lead "The Sound of Music Live."

Christopher Walken has many years of experience as a song-and-dance man, having gotten his start on Broadway. NBC Chairman Robert Greenblatt is excited about the partnership, as he should be considering how successful "The Sound of Music" was for the number-one broadcast network.

"This might be the first tap-dancing Captain Hook you've ever seen," beamed Greenblatt.

There is no word on who will take on the heavy-lifting as Peter Pan, but for now we at least have the original crocodile hunter locked and ready for his LIVE Thursday, December 4th debut on NBC.
