Hot off a brief session with the Television Critics Association during the winter press tour, CBS Entertainment President Nina Tesler confirmed the return date for the second season of my dad's favorite summer show "Under the Dome" The show was a huge success for CBS last summer, having glued butts to couches during its first 13-episode run.

In addition to the confirmed premiere date of Monday, June 30th, the first episode scribe is a very exciting get--original source material writer Stephen King. King wrote season two's debut, which hopefully opens a door for the author to come back each season ala George R.R. Martin for "Game of Thrones"

The season will have more twists and turns in its 13 episodes than it did last summer as our characters discovered that the dome was not intended to be a malevolent environment, but in fact a protective casing for the same town. Of course, the townspeople don't like being told what to do.

You can catch up on "Under the Dome" on Amazon Prime right now, and mark your calendar for Monday, June 30th at 10 PM ET.
