Valentine Memory from Lucy Monroe

pinterestbookbubpinterestInstagramYouTubegoodreadsfacebooktwitter

Years ago, when our son was a baby and our daughters had not yet joined our
family, Tom and I were your typical very broke, very adoring of their child,
young marrieds very much in love. We couldn't see any way to pay for a "date"
out and got to thinking about how we saw Valentines Day. We both agreed it was
a day to celebrate love, all kinds of love and we preferred to do it as a
family. So, we had a special dinner at home with our two month old and set a
precedent that we keep still. Now, our Valentines Days are spent at the
family's favorite restaurant (Zab's Thai), where Tom and I arrive early to
decorate the table and put unique Valentine's "favors" at each place setting.
Our children and grandchildren join us, though we've told our kids that there's
absolutely no pressure to do so and if they want a romantic night, we're happy
to watch grandbabies. But they like the tradition we set and want to keep it
going with their own children.

Wishing you and yours a wonderful Valentine's Day filled with love from me and
mine!

Lucy Monroe
