I’ve posted reviews for two books out this month that I
thoroughly enjoyed. A LOT
LIKE LOVE by Julie
James is a wonderful light romantic suspense and Suzanne Brockmann brings
some closure to Izzy Zanella and Danny Gilman’s stories in the
action-packed BREAKING THE
RULES.
I also got a sneak peak at AGAINST THE LAW, Kat Martin’s third book
in the
Raines of Wild Canyon series. Dev is pushed out of semi-retirement when Lark
Delaney comes to him for help in tracking down the baby girl her sister gave up
for adoption. Lark just wants to be sure the baby is happy and healthy, and Dev
sees this as an opportunity to repay a debt to the friend who referred her.
Things quickly become complicated when they uncover a shady adoption ring. The
search leads them to the adoptive parent’s home where they discover the child’s
parents have been murdered and the little girl has been taken. Of course all
the Raines men get involved, which I love.
I’m eagerly anticipating the latest addition to Jo Davis’s SHADO agency
series,
I SPY A DARK
OBSESSION. In this erotic/suspense series, we’ve been introduced
to Michael Ross as the cool-headed but grieving boss in I SPY A NAUGHTY GAME and
I SPY A WICKED SIN.
Now he’s out for revenge against ex-agent Robert Dietz, who
betrayed him and the agency. To capture Dietz, Michael turns to sexy tech expert
Katrina Brandt and his new right-hand man, Bastian Chevalier. As the three
team-up, they find themselves consumed not just by the job but by their desire
for each other.
Maya Banks
was the guest author at the Plano DFW Tea
book club in February. I
didn’t get to go, but Felicia Sparks did and wrote a review for this month’s new
release, HIDDEN AWAY.
She definitely peaked my interest in The Kelly Group International (KGI).
Garret Kelly and Sarah Daniels are sent on an
all-expenses-paid trip to the beach. She is in hiding after witnessing the
murder of her half-brother, and Garrett is there to protect her. It’s not long
before their interests turn to each other.
Fresh Fiction reviewer Mandy Burns had some great things to say about LIVING ON THE EDGE by Shannon K. Butcher which
tells the story of Lucas Ramsay, sent to
rescue Sloane Gideon from herself. Turns out Sloane works for a mercenary group
known as the Edge, and can take care of herself. But they may need to join
forces to get out of Columbia where Sloane has gone to help a friend.
DEADLY LIES,
by Cynthia Eden, is
the third book in the Deadly series and tells
the story of FBI Special Agent Samantha Kennedy who is haunted by memories of
the serial killer who abducted her. On the outside she is strong and confident,
but on the inside she is pressed in by the darkness at bay. To prove she’s over
the trauma, she shares a night of unbridled passion with a handsome stranger,
Max Ridgeway. For Max, one night isn’t enough. When they meet again, their
attraction is undeniable-until his stepbrother goes missing, and Max realizes
that Samantha isn't who she seems.
LIVE WIRE is
the 6th book in Lora
Leigh Elite Ops series and gives us Captain
Jordan Malone’s story. He has led his team of Elite Ops, but his past has
remained a mystery. Now that’s about to change. Tehya Talamosi, codename
Enigma, is a force to be reckoned with. A woman this striking spells nothing
but trouble for Jordan. Armed with killer secrets-and body to die for-she'll
bring Jordan to his knees as they both take on the most deadly mission they have
ever faced.
In FIGHT OR
FLIGHT, by Natalie J.
Damschroder, Regan Miller has been in hiding
for eighteen years after a group of men killed her boyfriend and tried to kidnap
her daughter, Kelsey. Now Kelsey is off to college and Regan starts to relax
and flirt with neighbor Tyler Sloane. Then Regan is attacked again, and she
turns to Tyler for help. But who is he really and can she trust him?
MEMORIES OF
YOU, by Bobbie
Cole, introduces us to cold case detective Charlie Vargas, who is searching
both for a killer and an explanation for the
disappearance of her lover. When the phone rings and she hears Seth's voice,
she's skeptical. He tells her his name is Mason Alridge, and the only thing he
remembers after his accident is the number he called...hers. Mason looks nothing
like her former lover, but there's something about his mannerisms, if not his
face, that draws Charlie in. As they begin to piece together what few clues and
skimpy details they have, Charlie and the man she believes is Seth slowly
discover a mutual passion. With the Feds following at a distance and someone
trying to kill them, will they live long enough to find out his true identity?
Happy reading!
