Happy New Year! If January is any indication weβre in for a treat this year
when it comes to books. Two of my fellow witchychicks,
Annette Blair and
Yasmine Galenorn have new
ones out this month.
In
Annette Blairβs
first mystery,
A Veiled
Deception, Madeira Cutler comes home from the New York fashion world to
plan her sisterβs wedding. When the bride is accused of murder, Madeira becomes
a sleuth. Turns out, Maddie can βreadβ vintage clothes and follow their clues.
Now sheβs wondering what other gifts she inherited from her mother. βIt was
quite the adventure jumping out of my comfort zone once more to write a cozy
mystery in first person,β says Blair, βbut Iβm glad I did and thrilled at the
response.β The bookβs been getting rave reviews and when you read it, youβll
know why.
Yasmine Galenornβs
Night Huntress is the
fifth book in her
OtherWorld Series. The DβArtigo sisters are half-
human, half-Fae operatives for the Otherworld Intelligence Agency. Delilah, a
werecat whoβs one of the Autumn Lordβs Death Maidens, has to fight off the
demon general who stole the third Spirit Seal and is now out for blood. βThis
book really let all of Delilahβs demons out of the box,β says Galenorn.
The hilarious
Gerry
Bartlettβs fourth book in the
Real Vampires series is
Real Vampires Donβt
Diet. βGlory St. Clair, the vampire who was bloating on the day she was
turned, is left dateless on New Year's Eve when boyfriend Jeremy Blade flies
off on family business,β Bartlett says. βThen she's called out to convince
newly turned vampire, handsome rock star Israel Caine, that falling on a stake
isn't the best way to see in the New Year. A midnight boat ride on an Austin
lake should cheer up the rocker but instead lands Glory and Ray in the arms of
a Siren who wants vamp sacrifices. With an old enemy's reappearance, the
Siren's demands and her own hormones on overload, Glory, along with her
shifter/bodyguard Valdez, discovers that, while vampires may not be able to
diet, if the stakes are high enough, they can still die.β
Elaine Levineβs first
book in her
Defiance series is
Rachel And The Hired Gun.
It features Rachel Douglas who must rely on the hard-edged gunman, Sager, her
father sends to guider across the terrain of the Dakota territory. βBut Sagerβs
got another plan,β says Levine, βand a blood debt to settle. Time doesnβt
always heal all wounds. Sometimes it takes a little vengeance.β
The third book in
The Black Stockings Society is
Body Chemistry by
Dara Girard. In it
biologist Brenda Everton tries to resist the charms of her ex-husband, Dominic
Ayers, when sheβs forced to work with him. βWhen these two first appeared on
the page together, the story wrote itself,β says Girard.
Drive Me Wild is the
latest from
P.J.
Mellor and it centers on a set of twins who experience everything together
including sexual exploits. βIβve always been around twins, as I have several
sets on both sides of my family,β Mellor says. βThen I had twins. So it seems
only natural to write a book about twins, including the highs and lows.β
