What do you think of the new cover for
Dead Until Dark by
Charlaine Harris? I think
itβs cool and goes right along with the new HBO series
True Blood Iβm a huge
fan of the Sookie Stackhouse books and Iβm lovinβ the new show. Itβs sexy, I
told you guys it would be, but Alan Ball has really brought those books to
life. Tell everyone to watch because I want more, more, more of this vampire
drama!
There are so many great books out this month so Iβm going straight to the e-mail:
I love me some
Nalini
Singh. Her new one
Hostage to Pleasure is the fifth book in the Psy/Changeling
series. Ashaya Aleine was separated from her son, forced to create a neural
implant that will forever enslave her psychically gifted Psy race. After
fighting a desperate battle to save her child and escape the PsyNet, sheβs led
not to safety, but into the lethal danger of a sniperβs embrace. Dorian, the
DarkRiver sniper who is the hero of this book, has been one of the integral
characters in the series - he's dangerous, beautiful, and so very angry at what
the Psy have stolen from him," Singh says. Dorian wasn't ready for his book for
a long time, but with HtP, he burst onto the page and took over! Just as well
that his heroine is tough enough to take him on.
Tawny Weberβs new one
is
Risque Business and
she says, Iβm a huge fan of the makeover stories and have always wanted to
write one. My heroine sees her makeover as a mask, so I had a great time
exploring the question of what happens when someone gets what they think they
want via a makeover and how they deal with all the doubts and questions that
success creates.β I happen to love makeover stories too, and am totally
downloading this one to the Kindle!
Everlasting Bad Boys is
a new anthology with
Cynthia Eden,
Shelly Laurenston and
Noelle Mack. "The inspiration for my hero, Luis, was the
boogeyman, says Cynthia about her novella
Spellbound. Seriously, I
wanted to create a being who instilled fear in all of my (many) paranormal
characters and Luis was born. He is the man that the supernaturals fear in the
darkness. I call him a soul-hunter. A soul-hunter is produced from the mating
of a witch and a level-ten demon. Heβs strong, deadly, and more than a little
bit bad. And I had a fabulous time writing him.
Unwrap Me is the latest
from
Susan Lyons.
Itβs one of the sexy stories in the new anthology by the same name. Lyonsβ says
she was the last person who she thought would ever write a Christmas story
because she has issues with the holiday. But in the summer of 2007, my
publisher asked if Iβd like to participate in a Christmas 2008 anthology, she
says. So I immediately wondered how I could write something cheery and
uplifting when I had such negative issues about the whole thing? Well the
answer was, give my heroine, Jude, some negative issues too, then match her up
with a guy, Nick, who loves Christmas. And do it 12 days before Christmas, so
he has twelve days to help her work through her pain and rediscover the true
spirit of Christmas.
Crossfire is by
JoAnn Ross and is about
FBI Special Agent Caitlin Cavanaugh. Sheβs in charge of stopping a mad man
sniper in South Carolina. She has to work with former Navy SEAL Quinn McKade,
who makes her feel deliciously out of control, says Ross. When the killer
starts leaving chillingly familiar clues, the pair knows that the murders
arenβt randomβ¦ and Cait and Quinn could be next.
Stephanie Julianβs
new release is
Seduced and
Ensnared. This is the third story in
my Magical Seduction series of contemporary paranormals, she says. My stories
are based on an Etruscan mythology, heavy on magic and romance. Cam de Feo
needs Stella Palmer as bait to trap her evil uncle. But when he seduces her,
heated passion threatens his carefully laid plans and Cam must choose between
vengeance and the woman he loves.
Christine Wells has a
new debut with
The
Dangerous Duke. This book came about through a series of
what ifs,
Wells says. What if you were a passionate woman trapped in a loveless marriage
and you didnβt want to have affairs? How would you find an outlet for all that
turmoil inside? My heroine found one by creating a fantasy lover and writing
about her encounters with him. But then she is widowed and the most devastating
man comes into her life. But heβs not at all like the lover between the pages
of her book. Does she prefer the dream or he flesh and blood man?β
