She settled next to him. After a few minutes, she said, “Jace?”

“Mm hmm.”

“When do we get to…you know?”

“Tell me.”

“When do we get to, um, screw. Fu**. Make love.”

“Someone’s eager.”

“You’re not?”

“I didn’t say that.” He reached for her hand and placed it on his throbbing cock. “Does this feel like a guy who doesn’t want to plunge inside the woman next to him?”

“Not at all. What are you waiting for?”

“This is foreplay, baby.”

“Foreplay?”

“The art of seduction.”

“What’s that?”

“What we’re doing. I’m seducing you, Jace Savage style.”

“Do you do this often?”

“Seduce Zoé Dubois? No. This is my first time.”

“No, I mean seduce women.”

“Oh, I see where this is headed. We’re back to you vetting me for my qualifications as a suitor. Am I a womanizer? A player? That’s what you’re asking.”

“Are you?”

“I’ve had my share of women.”

“Have you ever fallen in love?”

“Oh, yes.” He let out a long, slow breath. “And I believe I’ll do it again,” he said boldly. Actually, the thought scared the shit out of him as evidenced by his madly racing pulse.

“With who?”

“With you, who else?” He kissed her temple tenderly, while his heart hammered in his chest.

“How can you be sure?”

“Shhh, Zoé Dubois. Look at the stars. All your needs will get met, I assure you. I’m scheming as we lay here.”

“Really?”

“Yes, really.”

“I can wait then.”

“Can you?”

“Yes, I can wait with eager anticipation.”

“I like the sound of that. Makes me hot, actually.” Oh, baby…

“Does it?”

“Oh, yeah. Very. Feel it.” He placed her hand on his cock again. “Can you feel how much I ache for you? This is me, longing to be inside of you.”

“What’s stopping you?”

“Who said I’m stopping? More like savoring. The night is young.”

“We’re back to the art of seduction, are we?” she said. “Two can play at seduction, you know.”

Mmm. Perfect response. He glanced over at her smiling face, focused on the stars. “It’s far better with two.”

“Then, game on.”

The simple statement made his cock pulse with joy. “Are you saying you’re going to seduce me back?” he said, smiling mischievously.

“I’m saying, two can play. You’re one and I’m one. That makes two.”

“Understood. Simple math.” He ran his tongue along his teeth in anticipation.

They both fell quiet for a while, inhaling the night’s mystery.

“I’m going to wreck you, you know.”

His voice seemed to hit her like a bullet, causing her to jerk. “You are? What does that mean?”

“You’re never going to want anyone else, I’m going to guarantee that.”

“That’s a pretty bold statement for someone who hasn’t made a move yet.”

“I want to warn you, is all.”

“I’ve been warned.”

“And you’re not running?”

“You could be all talk.” She shifted next to him. “Actually, I’m getting cold. Can we go somewhere warm?”

“Like where?”

“I don’t know. I’ll leave that up to you.”

“Okay.” He looked at her quizzically, wondering if he’d played this all wrong.

They bundled up the blanket, picked up the gear and traipsed out of the wooded area. He climbed on the bike, and said, “Ready for you.”

“Good,” she said. She sauntered toward him, took the helmet from his hands and set it on the ground. His eyebrows rose. “Something in mind?”

“Foreplay’s over, baby,” she said. She slid her tight jeans down, yanked them off each foot over her shoes, and dropped them on top of the helmet.

His eyes grew saucer wide. Holy hell. He licked his lips, all thoughts, schemes, strategies blown away.
