Mystery Cozy

Reporter turned Tex-Mex waitress Josie Callahan is about to go from serving queso to solving cases…

After losing her newspaper job in Austin and having her former fiancé unfriend her on Facebook, Josie Callahan scoops up her Chihuahua, Lenny, and slinks back to Broken Boot, Texas. Maybe working as head waitress at Milagro— her aunt and uncle’s Tex-Mex restaurant—isn’t exactly living the dream, but it is a fresh start.

And business is booming as tourists pour into Broken Boot for its famous Wild West Festival. But when a local jewelry designer is found strangled outside Milagro after a tamale-making party, Josie’s reporter instincts kick in. As suspects pile up and alibis crack faster than taco shells, Josie needs to wrap up this case tighter than her tía’s tortillas—before another victim calls for the check…

INCLUDES TEX-MEX RECIPES!

Re: Here Today, Gone Tamale

I am living in Minnesota waiting for the snow to come and I am
really homesick now. I have been to this area so many times as
a kid and have taken my kids and grandkids to this area. I am
from Monahans. We used to say Chili Today and Hot Tamale. Best
to you on your book.

(
Lisa L. 7:41pm December 11, 2015)

Although I do get a hankering occasionally for Mexican
food, which I'm sure is a far cry from Tex-Mex, I
enjoyed reading your posting!! Your book sounds like
it's going to be a real hoot as well, with all of the
characters involved, and to start from the ground
floor of the series, is the best place to start!!
I've put your book on my TBR list, and just hope it's
not going to make me too hungry for anything other
than wanting to finish your book!! I love the cover
as well. Someone went all out to capture the flavor
of your story (no pun intended). Congratulations on
your latest book, and I hope it does well!! How can
it not, with such a wonderful cast of characters,
along with such a great story line?? Have a wonderful
2016 as well!!
(
Peggy Roberson 5:56am January 5, 2016)

I am from West Texas, and reading this makes me homesick. I
make Mexican food and always love new recipes. Yesterday, I
cooked some hamburger so I could make a taco salad today. I
have already added this to my TBR list.
