Romance Suspense | Romance Contemporary

FBI Agent Laurel Evertson’s investigation into a scam targeting the elderly takes an unexpected twist when key evidence leads her to Morton Wilmington, a felon she arrested five years ago on her first undercover assignment. That case has haunted her since, and though she’s vowed to forget Wilmington—and what she sacrificed to put him away— he is now her best lead.

Houston Police Officer Daniel Hilton fears his grandparents may be the scammer’s next targets, and he’ll do anything to protect his family—even force interagency cooperation. But he’s quickly drawn to Laurel’s empathy and zeal and agrees to follow her lead . . . even if it means teaming up with a felon.

As the unlikely trio uncovers evidence suggesting the scam is more extensive and deadly than they imagined, both Laurel and Daniel find themselves in the crosshairs of a killer. Together they must decide if they can trust Wilmington’s claims of redemption, or if he’s leading them straight into a double cross.

Re: Double Cross

I found your concept interesting, but am not a fan of
Katherine Heigl. Perhaps Reese Witherspoon would make a
better candidate. Since I've only been up a short time, my
mind hasn't fully engaged yet, so I'm unable to come up with
more names - however, I DO know that I'm anxious to read
your book, with or without the musical overtones!! It
sounds like a great read, and will make for a great read to
usher in the Spring!! I've put it on my TBR list, and will
be waiting for it's turn on my list!! Congratulations on
what I know is going to be a big hit!!

Colleen Conklin 1:16pm April 17, 2015)

Can't wait to read it!
Heather Brown 4:41pm April 17, 2015)

If it has Clint Eastwood, I will usually watch. I am trying
to think of musicals that are mystery. Phantom of the Opera
is one.
Leona Olson 4:52pm April 17, 2015)

Judy Ferguson 5:21pm April 17, 2015)

I enjoy romantic suspense novels! I also like the fact that Double Cross is set in Houston. I live about an hour from Houston. :)

Thank you for the contest. You have an interesting cast
Deb Philippon 9:25am April 18, 2015)

Even though I like Katherine Heigl if your book were a musical
with KH opening singing a song I'd have to pass. After
watching 27 Dresses and hearing her do Elton John's Benny and
the Jets I'd rather just read your book. The rest of your cast
sounds great!!
Jane Frisch 9:30am April 18, 2015)

I agree with all of your characters except Colin Farrell. Not a fan of his. I read Firewall and loved it. Can't wait to read Doublecross.
Linda Harrison 9:58am April 18, 2015)

picturing these folks singing.

Irene Menge 2:39pm April 18, 2015)

Teresa Roberts 2:58pm April 18, 2015)

Cast sounds great as well as song selections. Very interesting sounding story that I know I'd very much enjoy. I like Denzel Washington so I'd make him the Houston Police Officer instead of Colin Farrell.
