She's an American heiress. He's a devilish earl. When these two collide, the sparks ignite a shocking scandal in USA Today bestselling author Laura Lee Guhrke's unforgettable Victorian-era romance. Linnet Holland wants nothing to do with fortune hunters. No, she's determined to marry a man who loves her. But just as she's about to accept the perfect marriage proposal from the man she wants, the rakish Earl of Featherstone interrupts and ruins everything, including her reputation, with his smoldering kiss . . . Jack Featherstone knows all about Linnet's "intended," and he's determined she won't fall prey to that villain as other women have in the past. But when his attempt to save Linnet ruins her instead, he knows he has to make things right. So he sets out to win this golden beauty . . . and prove to her that being ruined by him was the best thing that could have happened to her.
I'm a firm believer that time changes everything, because it has happened to me on more than one occasion. Not that my reputation was ruined per-se, but something was said that could have changed the perception of me. With time, along with behind-the-scenes actions by me, and a few silent prayers, things were changed back in my favor. I can relate to feeling like a black sheep, and am looking forward to reading your latest book. The cover is stunning, and am so glad that you left the heads on the characters for your book as well, unlike so many Authors who don't nowadays. Leaving their heads on makes the book so much more appealing, but it's really what's inside that counts, and I know I'm in for a wonderful read!! Congratulations again!! I only made it to chapter 7. I didn't care for the heroine; she is a spoiled rich girl. I didn't care for the hero, I wanted him to find a way to make money instead of planning on marrying an heiress. He made a comment that working is for middle class people. (Karen Darling 6:18pm June 4, 2022)
