Romance Historical

Can Love Survive When Secrets Collide?

She'd kept her secrets safely hidden - those from her past, and those in the present. Some things, Beth Roberts knows, a lady simply doesn't share, even in the 1880's West. The townspeople would never understand. No one ever has.

Jeffery Tucker, a handsome young writer, has kept his own secrets. He doesn't have a right to pry into Beth's affairs but finds himself strangely drawn to her and intrigued by the whiff of mystery surrounding her.

Beth knows that one day someone will unravel the threads of her past. And when two men from her past arrive, the truth might just hurt . . . Beth's future and her heart.

As shadowy memories surface, Beth sketches the scenes she sees and is shocked by what - and who - her illustrations reveal. Dare she risk her heart again?

Re: Wishing On Buttercups

Wishing on Buttercups and a sewing kit!? Cool giveaway!! Thank you!!
(Lisa Hutson 12:15pm January 24, 2014)

You've written so many books but are still a new author to me. This sounds like a very encouraging story...something we all can use. My faith is strong, but with raising my 3 teenage grandsons there are days even I wonder...what next?...smile. Would love to read your book. Congrats on your success.

I love this style of writing and would love the chance for
wishing on butterkits...it is unexpected and wonderful that
you are throwing in a sewing kit!

It's always nice to find an Author in my age group, because I know that we'll be on the same wavelength. Your books sound like they're going to be quite uplifting, and after the long Winter we've been having, they'll be just the ticket, right about now!! Not only do I love the cover of your latest book, but I love the message inside of it. Over the years, I've gone through my bouts of insecurities and struggles. Some were brought on by outside sources, and others were of my own making. I've managed to pull through most of them pretty much unscathed, but still have a couple that I have been relying on Faith to help get me through. I think your books will be very beneficial, and will have to put them on my TBR list. Thank you for a very lovely posting, and I don't, for one minute, think of you as a phony, when you can help so many other people!!

Thank you for your blog today - and the chance to win your book. It sounds wonderful. Even if I don't win, I'll have to get it to read. It sounds just my cuppa tea - with a strong message to boot. Thank you.

Denise Smith 12:23pm January 24, 2014)

I have always felt insecure around groups of people or people that I am meeting for the first time. My stomach just ties itself in knots.
(
Sue Farrell 12:35pm January 24, 2014)

I am a very insecure person but writers seem so sure of themselves. Nice
to know we all have the same hang ups abt things.
(
Vicki Hancock 12:40pm January 24, 2014)

You've chosen an interesting title and I especially like the plot. As for insecurities, I have my share. In many ways I am a strong person, but there are those other times.
(
Anna Speed 12:40pm January 24, 2014)

I have always felt insecure but as I have gotten older I have learned to work through it and luckily my children are very secure adults!
(
Denise Austin 12:56pm January 24, 2014)

As a child and into adulthood I have been a stutterer. So, I have insecures when it comes to expressing myself. Enjoyed your blog.

in this one. :) Great Work Miralee!!
(
Joy Crandall 1:58pm January 24, 2014)

You are a new author for me as well. I love the title, the story line and also period it's set in. I also love buttercups as they remind me of my younger sister when she little. She'd pick a bunch of buttercups and ask our mother if she liked flowers. Of course the answer was always yes and then she's take them from behind her back and give them to mom. I'd like to read your book. Thanks for the giveaway.
(
Vennie Martinisi 2:21pm January 24, 2014)

is.

I'm looking forward to receiving my copy of WISHING ON BUTTERCUPS. BLOWING ON DANDELIONS was a great book. If you haven't read Miralee's books then I highly recommend BLOWING ON DANDELIONS. I read it and waiting for her new book to arrive in the mail. Thanks again Miralee.
(
Pat Moore 3:46pm January 24, 2014)

I think we all have things in our past that are best left in the past. And, I was so much taller than the boys in middle school that I totally felt out of place. And, I have worked wioth handicapped kids for many years now, so I have a little insight into how devastating being even just a little different can be sometimes. I think Beth and I would easily get along. :)
(
Sandy Fielder 4:24pm January 24, 2014)

i like the title i want to read this book
(
Debbi Shaw 5:15pm January 24, 2014)

I think as a whole I try so hard to be perfect that anything
I do I don't think of as perfect becomes something I punish
myself for.
(
Theresa Norris 5:37pm January 24, 2014)

sounds like a really good read. adding to my TBR list!!!
(
Barbara Studer 6:35pm January 24, 2014)

I think most women have been ridiculed for something or
other. In fact, I think probably most women have been called
ugly and called a good-looking snob. I've heard women as a
class dismissed as unintellectual, and I've been rejected as
too smart/educated.
(
Mary Ann Dimand 7:08pm January 24, 2014)

I love Miralee's writings! She draws you into her novels,
and her books are hard to put down! I am loving this current
series of books!
(
Patty Cooper 7:15pm January 24, 2014)

There are things in my family that I fear I'll be judged on if they were well known, even though I had nothing to do with it. I try to live for the present.
(
Marcy Shuler 7:16pm January 24, 2014)

While reading Wishing on Buttercups, I identified with Beth and her insecurity. Not too long ago I began battling chronic illness, and that is when I really began to realize how blessed I really am and how much I have to be thankful for. Miralee's novels remind me of this, and I love the inspiration that they evoke!
(
Sarah Snider 7:25pm January 24, 2014)

This sounds really good! I love to sew, which is definitely
unusual for a 21 year old, especially these days. I'm often
ridiculed because I like doing things that most college
students don't, such as sewing, reading, cross-stitching and
cooking. I'm also really shy; however, I learned years ago
that I love my hobbies, and anyone who doesn't like it can
move on. I'm happy the way I am :)
(
Sara Doyle 9:43pm January 24, 2014)

I have been ridiculed for my ideas and the way I act. It turns out the people who did this to me didn't want me to be better than they are.
(
Kai Wong 9:59pm January 24, 2014)

Miralee, I guess I will always think of you as Miracle. Yes, I am the one that
made the error with your name and certainly haven't forgotten it. I love that
you are so humble about your book writing. You are a very gifted and
talented writer and I want to thank you for what you do. Thank you also for
the opportunity to win.
(
Melanie Backus 10:15pm January 24, 2014)

Hi Miss Miralee! As you know, I have read your new book and you know my
story. Beth's insecurities and the reasons for them really hit home with me.
I have struggled with insecurities all my life due to being born with a
neuromuscular disorder. Even though a person might treat me "normal" I
still felt as if I just wasn't up to par and still do at times. I completely
understood the way Beth tried to keep her deformity hidden. I surely would
have done the same thing if at all possible. This is the second book in this
series and both touch a deep part of me. I love that you tackle "real-life"
issues in your books and you do it so well. You are a great writer and I am
proud to know you.

Obviously, I'm not entering the contest. :)
(
Wanda Barefoot 10:53pm January 24, 2014)

Weight has been an issue for me for many years, and I used to be insecure about it. I know that I would be healthier, and better able to do some things that I currently can not, if I were able to lose weight - but I'm no longer insecure about it.

Thanks for the opportunity to win a copy of Wishing on Buttercups!
(
Bonnie Roof 11:19pm January 24, 2014)

I can be very insecure about things too. I think we all have things we are insecure about! Your books sound very good! Thanks for the chance to win!
(
Christy Maurer 12:41pm January 25, 2014)

I believe that everyone has insecurities some of us are just
better at hiding them from others and ourselves. :-)
(
Glenda Martillotti 1:17pm January 25, 2014)

I so appreciate everyone's comments and wish I could answer
each of you individually. For those of you who have read my
books and enjoy them, thank you so much for sharing that!
For those who are struggling with something in your life,
know that God cares, is listening when we pray, and that I
will lift you up to Him. I so appreciate the interest in my
books, especially from those who have never tried one
before. I truly believe you won't be disappointed if you
take the risk and try one! Blessings and warm hugs to you
all.
(
Miralee Ferrell 2:47pm January 25, 2014)

The only insecurity I can remember was when I was younger. It never failed, if I had to get up in front of my classmates in school to give a book report or read something, I'd get so nervous, I could hardly look up from my paper like we were instructed to. I didn't want to see all those eyes looking at me. This was probably because I was a shy kid. When I was a senior in high school, I started to overcome that an be more outgoing. I've always loved sewing and doing craft projects of all kinds, so I like this contest, and am looking forward to reading your books!
(
Linda Luinstra 4:38pm January 25, 2014)

Congratulations on the nominations. I'm looking forward to a
fantastic read.
(
Mary Preston 12:09pm January 26, 2014)

Sounds like a great read.
(
Rita Wray 9:54am January 26, 2014)

Right now I am totally feeling worthless. Why? Because the church keeps judging me and butchering me to pieces. I am walking out of church forever and will never darken the door of another church. I'm done. I still love God, still know what I believe and where I am going. But I will not go to church.
(
Jane Squires 5:35pm January 26, 2014)

Jane, I'm so sorry to hear what you're going through right
now. Maybe you can find fellowship with a small group of
ladies so you won't feel totally alone, but I understand your
hurt. You're right, God still loves you and hasn't abandoned
you, no matter what man might say. Warm hugs and prayers.
(
Miralee Ferrell 9:09pm January 26, 2014)

Sounds like a really good book, one that many of us can relate to.
