Like Bridgerton, but with Vampires

Angelica Winthrop wants nothing more than to ruin her reputation to avoid marriage and be a gothic authoress like her idol, Mary Shelley. Unfortunately, all her schemes keep backfiring and the wedding noose is tightening. To find inspiration for her next story, she breaks into the reputably haunted home of Ian Ashton, Duke of Burnrath. But when she tumbles down the stairs, Angelica finds something far more dangerous than ghosts.

Ian is the Lord vampire of London and is currently at his wit’s end. Thanks to a vampire craze spawned by the publication of John Polidori’s The Vampyre, tongues are wagging and wagers are being made about his nocturnal proclivities. The solution to his problem tumbles into his lap in the form of the vivacious heiress.

The duke destroys Angelica’s plans by publicly proposing marriage to save his reputation. Sparks fly as the authoress attempts every impropriety to dissuade the vampire and he retaliates with his skills of seduction.

After a quirky courtship and a tender wedding night, their rocky marriage of convenience is played out before the scandalized eyes of the ton. If that weren’t enough, a vampire hunter and John Polidori himself are also watching…and plotting.

Subgenres: paranormal regency romance, historical paranormal romance, vampire romance, gothic paranormal romance, regency vampire romance

Interesting read! Hoping to win!

I think having a character that is either a love them or hate them person really adds a spark to a story. It also means they are well crafted.

I understand, believe it or not. I write terrible mothers as often as I write nice ones. And I had the best mother in the world.

I will have to read it to find out. Either way, I like it.
(
Amy Hamilton 4:38pm April 11, 2013)

Angelica sounds to be quite a handful. Which is so much better than a boring heroine. I am very interested in finding out how she gets along..
Good luck and happy writing!
(
Tracie Travis 9:17pm April 11, 2013)

Let me start by giving you my condolences on the loss of your Mother. Once that happens, it seems to give you a different slant on the way you look at things in general, and that's why your book turned out the way it did. Knowing that we have a common thread, I am very anxious to read your book. The title brought a smile to my face, and I love stories that are set in England anyway, so this is a book that is right up my alley!! This is a book I need to curl up with while the weather is still cold here, and I can lay back and really inhale your book in its' entirety!! It's definately on my TBR list, and I'll have to get my hands on it somehow!! Congratulations on your latest book!!
(
Peggy Roberson 9:22pm April 11, 2013)

This sounds like a book with characters I will love! Hope I'm a winner. Thanks
(
Lynne Mauro 9:42pm April 11, 2013)

I think that what mothers are for: to drive us crazy. They know what button to push on us. My mother is a control freak. Mine always see the grass being green on the other side. Most of the conversations are one-sided where she does all the talking. She loves the attention and yet she is always critical about everything I do. Mothers are very manipulative when they want their ways.

We could love them and hate them but we definitely can't live without mothers.
(
Kai Wong 9:43pm April 11, 2013)

THis sounds fantastic! Thanks for sharing and congrats on the
new release!
(
Erin Fender 9:48pm April 11, 2013)

Your heroine sounds facinating. So different from ones that a reader usually meets.
(
Gladys Paradowski 10:29pm April 11, 2013)

sounds like a good read
(
Jennifer Hansen 10:29pm April 11, 2013)

(
Renee Brown 10:31pm April 11, 2013)

"Bite Me, Your Grace" sounds like a fun read. Thanks for a chance to win.
Happy Spring!
(
Gail Siuba 10:33pm April 11, 2013)

A fun read. Thank you.
(
Holly Vanderhule 10:37pm April 11, 2013)

Sounds like a fun read... Thank you for the chance
(
Jeannie Platt 11:31pm April 11, 2013)

I love the title! It shows all of Angelica's attitude and what
she really thinks! This is definitely going on my TBR list.
(
Jennifer Boyett 3:34am April 12, 2013)

The social climber mother is definitely still out there, but maybe their children do get more opportunities in life, just because the mother looked around for them. I could have participated in youth award schemes but I never knew anything about them or how to apply or how to find out about them! No internet in those days and I was too shy to go asking myself. So your heroine can take good and bad from her mother. Good title, and I am sure the story is a fun read.
(
Clare O'Beara 7:56am April 12, 2013)

I'm looking forward to reading Angelica's story. I'm sure I
will LOVE her.
(
Mary Preston 6:49am April 13, 2013)

At this time of day my brain is mush. But you covered one of my favorite pairs of movies with the two Addams family movies. My brother is a big fan of ARMY OF DARKNESS. Right now I have a Zombie movie checked out from the library, Warm bodies. I need to find some time to sit down and watch it.
(
Laura Gullickson 5:07am October 6, 2013)

Hocus Pocus! It is a required part of Halloween for me.
Probably more than once. :-D
(
Karin Anderson 8:42am October 6, 2013)

Now who doesn't love the Adams Family? But the Red Rose was the best. Thanks for this great giveaway!!!
(
Bonnie Capuano 9:08am October 6, 2013)

I love Halloween and scary books. I just watched all the Halloween movies to get in the spirit of the season.
(
Elaine Thomas 10:42am October 6, 2013)

Halloween is the best holiday! Love to see the kids all dressed up and trying to play their parts. But, as for movies, Pet Sematary is great. However, I do tend to go more for movies such as Hocus Pokus and Nightmare Before Christmas. And let's not forget Garfield's Halloween show.
(
Vennie Martinisi 11:15am October 6, 2013)

@Laura, thanks for stopping by! I haven't checked out Warm
Bodies yet. I will have to!

@Karin, I LOVE Hocus Pocus! If I was allowed my list would
be over 100 movies long. :)

@Bonnie Yeah, I'm going to have to watch Rose Red again
soon.

@Elaine Me too! And they're great with roasted pumpkin
seeds!
(
Brooklyn Ann 11:15am October 6, 2013)

@Vennie I had no idea Garfield had a Halloween show! I'm going
to have to check that out!
(
Brooklyn Ann 11:16am October 6, 2013)

Love watching Hocus Pocus and love the Addams family, big fan of Stephen King and his books.
(
Jean Patton 1:02pm October 6, 2013)

I enjoy the lighter fare. Nightmare Before Christmas is a favorite. Hocus Pocus is cute, too. Thanks for visiting today.
(
G S Moch 1:10pm October 6, 2013)

I have seen a few on your list above... Not much into scary movies, but cute and funny are more my style. My sister is the one that sees every scary flick.
(
Colleen Conklin 1:28pm October 6, 2013)

I love watching Underworld and Resident Evil for Holloween.
(
Kai Wong 2:37pm October 6, 2013)

Nope, sorry, I don't watch horrors. Apart from The Lost Boys. Excellent, and good music too.

Underworld and Adams Family
(
Sharon Cook 3:23pm October 6, 2013)

i like watching the halloween shows on tv i really dont have a
favorite
(
Denise Smith 3:32pm October 6, 2013)

I don't like scary ones so give my the Addams family movies or Hocus Pocus.
(
Sue Farrell 4:30pm October 6, 2013)

@Jean Me too! Stephen King is my hero. @Clare I ADORE The Lost
Boys! @Denise there are some great Halloween Shows! @Sue Yeah,
or Gremlins!
(
Brooklyn Ann 5:37pm October 6, 2013)

Oooh... I love Adams Family... so funny!
(
May Pau 7:04pm October 6, 2013)

Wow, Congrats on your new book: BITE ME YOUR GRACE. I love
the book cover too! Yes, I love the Addams Family and the
Munsters and all those other movies you mentioned. My
favorite I believe is: Phantasm movie. Phantasm is a 1979
American horror film directed, written, photographed, co-
produced, and edited by Don Coscarelli. It introduced the
Tall Man (Angus Scrimm), a supernatural and malevolent
undertaker who turns the dead into dwarf zombies to do his
bidding and take over the world. He is opposed by a young
boy, Mike (Michael Baldwin), who tries to convince his older
brother Jody (Bill Thornbury) and family friend Reggie
(Reggie Bannister) of the threat. To me that is a SCARY
movie and I can still hear the Tall Man yelling BOY and
there is no way you would ever catch me near a cemetery at
night. I would love to win and read your new book this Fall.
Thank You for the great contest and great movie memories
too. Thanks, Cecilia CECE
(
Cecilia Dunbar Hernandez 7:46pm October 6, 2013)

I loved Bite Me Your Grace! I'm with you on the movie
recommendations except for the Stephen King. That one is a
little too intense for me. LOL!
(
Linda Townsend 8:55pm October 6, 2013)

There's always Ghostbuster's, which is one of my favorites!
(
Janie McGaugh 8:56pm October 6, 2013)

Buffy the Vampire Slayer! I really don't do horror, but I do camp. The Rocky Horror Picture Show! ;-)
(
Marcia Berbeza 10:57pm October 6, 2013)

@May! Morticia is my hero. @Cecilia, Phantasm is awesome! I
own it! @Linda Thanks so much!!! @Janie I actually have
Ghostbusters on one of my lists! I still can't decide whether
I like 1 or 2 better. @Marcia, oh yes, Rocky Horror forever!!!
(
Brooklyn Ann 11:14pm October 6, 2013)

(
Bonnie Capuano 7:28am December 17, 2013)

Let me start out by saying that I wanted to give you my Sympathies in the loss of your Mother. I know that when it happens, things seem so surreal, and you never quite get over the grieving process. My Mother passed away almost 12 years ago, and it still seems like yesterday. My problem is that I never took the time out to really grieve her death. There was so much going on in my life at the time, that I sort of went through the motions of taking care of my Dad, and taking care of loose ends. That out of the way, let me say that I don't read this genre, but after reading your posting, you make me WANT to take a chance and read your books!! I can see how you've really done your research, and poured your heart and soul into your book, and I can't wait to be a part of it!! Congratulations on what I'm sure is going to be a great career choice for you!!
(
Peggy Roberson 10:40am December 17, 2013)

Very much want to read your book. :) Do hope you have a nice
holidays.
(
Leslie Davis 11:02am December 17, 2013)

I have this book down on my want list!
(
Colleen Conklin 11:17am December 17, 2013)

This looks like a great book. Vampires are one of my favorite genres.
(
Amy Kincade 12:38pm December 17, 2013)

Many thanks to your mother's spirit for providing that prod to go in a new direction in your life! From grief came such a great thing!

Thank you for sharing this with us!
(
Felicia Ciaudelli 1:15pm December 17, 2013)

This sounds like great fun to read! A woman who wants to ruin her reputation makes for a grand story! Thanks for the contest.
(
Vennie Martinisi 1:48pm December 17, 2013)

Can't wait to read!
(
Sharon Cook 4:03pm December 17, 2013)

Sounds like a great book. Sorry for your loss.
(
Denise Austin 4:12pm December 17, 2013)

thank you for the chance!
(
Vickie Schultz 4:33pm December 17, 2013)

What a fun books! Vampires and the regency time period, what a winner! And to
be doing three books sounds great! I want to read this series! Thank you so
much for letting me know about this. Can't wait to read the books.
(
Peggy Allen 6:57pm December 17, 2013)

Wow, Congrats on your new book: BITE ME, YOUR GRACE. I love
the book cover too! I am so sorry to hear of the loss of
your Mother. My Mother and Sister both passed away a month
before Christmas back in 1995 so Holidays are hard for me
since then. I am happy for You getting a laptop computer and
getting your writing career going again too! I love Vampire
stories and I know that I would truly love to win and read
your new book this Christmas! Happy Holidays and Thank You
very much. Cecilia CECE
(
Cecilia Dunbar Hernandez 7:07pm December 17, 2013)

I enjoyed reading about your path to being pubbed. I love the title and plan to look further into this intriguing book.
(
Marcy Shuler 7:15pm December 17, 2013)

Sounds like a great read!
(
Carolyn Rhodes 9:13pm December 17, 2013)

I love Regencies too - tho I've never read one with a Vampire!
(
Diane Sallans 9:39pm December 17, 2013)

OMG I love the premise of Bite Me Your Grace! Definitely on
my wish list!

I'm with you on being irritated with people who think
Twilight is the first real vampire type books that were
popular -- or good (don't even get me started on that train
of thought ....)
(
Glenda Martillotti 10:14pm December 17, 2013)

I did read a Regencies book about vampire who wants to be human again. I can't remember what the title is. I'm going to have to go through some boxes to find this book. Thanks for the giveaway.
(
Kai Wong 11:44pm December 17, 2013)

Congrats! Thanks for sharing your experience of trying to get
published. This sounds really good, and I'm definitely adding
it to my TBR list.
(
Tina Rucci 11:46pm December 17, 2013)

I loved reading the story of how Bite Me, Your Grace came to
be. I can't wait to read it. Congratulations!
(
Deidre Durance 11:03am December 18, 2013)

Terrific story, and, although I'm sorry you didn't go with the
smaller publisher, it is undoubtedly in your best interest to
sign with some one who can provide the distribution you need.
Best of luck!
(
Janet Martin 7:23pm December 18, 2013)

I can't wait to read your book. =)
(
Brandi Dagwan 1:55am December 19, 2013)

Congrats on the publication of Bite Me, Your Grace! It sounds like a fascinating book. Thanks for sharing your experiences in writing.
