My worst was when my dear, thoughtful man
decided oops and ran to cvs got a card, hair
products, soap, condoms, and wine. Let me back
that up with, I don't drink and I have a
hysterectomy..I was horrified, filled with
suspicion. The moment things were handed to
me one at a time out of the bag I was beyond a
boiling point and mortified. The look of disdain
was apparently on my face as he slowly collected
the items, afterall it wasn't as fast as I would like,
and promptly returned the presents. Uggh, what
a memory.

I am sorry to both of you having a bad V Day....I would too ve upset...I can't say that I have had a bad one..but I choose that day to be our anniversary so that he wouldn't forget..at least he better not!!

My hubby usually is ok on valentine's day although he is the candy eater so I get him the chocolates. :) I think the only times I had bad Valentine's Days it was because he was out of town and I was home without him. For years if it fell during the week we would not be together. Like you I realized that appreciating my time with him when he is home is way more important than if we give way to much money to a store for a couple of pieces of paper and some sugar.

This year, I did get a nice card from my hubby, but that was it. He was asleep on the couch by 7:15. I don't worry about it though. I think Valentine's Day is way too commercialized and over-hyped. There's too much pressure on guys to make it something special. I'm lucky that my guy shows me he loves me in lots of little ways everyday.

My worst Valentine's Day ever was when my (now ex) husband removed his wedding band, told me he lost it (ha! ha! when he never took it off) and I found it in the ashtray of his car, where he often kept loose change, because he's a non-smoker. I decided to keep it and not disclose that I had it. He never missed it! Why? He had a girlfriend and was going to church with her! She wouldn't want the congregation to think she was with a married man! Who was she fooling (only her mother, from what I was told). So much for the romance...we got divorced a year later (after separating). They got married. It still feels bad or ugly to me, because we had such a wonderful marriage until she started working with him and hitting on him because her marriage failed (crying on his shoulder at work, so she could get hugs and sympathy from my man of 27 yrs.).

I would have to say it would be when my Husband got off work and spent time with the guys, then came home. At the time, it got me a little upset, but now I understand that he was just blowing off some steam from his job. When he lost it after 7 years, it was a curse as well as a Godsend. Now we are closer than ever, and living in a quieter and calmer area that suits us better.

I had school, received all my chocolates and cards from my friends....THEN I HAD A SORE THROAT!! So I couldn't eat all those Toblerone Bars...Haha. It's not really epic, just that I'm a HUGE chocolate fan, so it was a big thing for me. Those sinful bars within reach but I couldn't even smell it. Sigh.. Haha. X)

No epic fail, just things are changing. I lost my husband a few years ago but this year made me think. My son was busy with his family (which he should be) and my daughter was out with her boy friend (that's great) and I'm not dating anyone so I was at home reading. The day came and went and made me think ' new beginning, time for me to get out there and find something I like?' Everyone enjoyed themselves so that's was good and my book was great.
