"Elle. It’s just Elle."

When a regular night of Robin Hood-ery results in the manifestation of some, um, unusual paranormal abilities, perfume-maker Elleodora Fredricks realizes the normal world she lives in isn’t quite… normal. And neither is she, thanks to her father, king of the shadow elves. Not only is he evil incarnate and the reason Elle moonlights as a burglar—someone has to take care of all his victims—he’s stolen her memories.

And only reading her fate can fix that.

Good thing she’s got a trio of hotties willing to help her find said fate. Saving her oracle BFF’s fiancée, falling in love with the gargoyle, and making up for breaking the phoenix’s heart ought to be a piece of cake for the princess of the shadow elves.

If only the king didn’t want his daughter dead...

Re: Stone Cold Seduction

Stone Cold Seduction sounds great!
(LaRonda Atchison 12:17pm September 11, 2011)

I was a worry wort throughout my whole entire life until I got to the point of stressing. After that episode in college, I started to make changes in my life when I will enjoy life more than trying to keep things under control. Whenever I start to feel like I have to rush through life, I keep telling myself that I have time and not to panic.

I love relaxation tapes at the end of the day..to meditate, hypnotize
before bed, a cleansing of mind and work on the sub conscious as I relax
and hopefully wipe away the stress of the day. The present is just that a
present, but I admit I am a worrywart, I do allow moments, people to
bother me - longer than I care to admit, but, life is not about perfection,
its about growing. Thanks for this blog.

I'm not a stressful person, but the few times I feel stress, I definitely take deep breaths.

My life has now become an opportunity to be "living in the moment" - too many people around me are in drama-mode...I refuse to to do that any longer. My new mantra is "life is to short to be anything other than happy"...

I don't think I have really lived in the moment. Just not that type of person. I make lists (rough draft of lists and good copies...) and plan things weeks ahead of time... But will TRY to live in the moment after reading your article....

Congrats on your new bok!

I have a very very hard time living in the moment. My dad always had me look at how whatever I did effected others. I somehow lost the present and I am constantly focused on what will happen. I would love to have you sit on my shoulder and whisper reminders to me until I learned!

LOL

Sounds like a great book and thanks for the post.

Jess, I want to thank you for your refreshing blog today. You're the kind of person that I'd love to have for a neighbor, since we share a lot of the same interests. I do want to say, though, that I've had a very bad spell that's almost like a cloud over my head. My Husband lost his job, and we lost our house and most of our belongings. We had to pack up our pop-up camper and pick-up truck with what we could, grab our dog, and leave the rest behind. We lived in a few campgrounds until we found the place where we're living now. To me, I've found my slice of Heaven, even if it is only an apartment. We sit on a lot of acreage, and it gives me a lot of chances to catch my breath and live in the present, where before I did a lot of crying. I feel renewed, and have started my new life refreshed and with a new outlook as well. I know where you're coming from when you talk about the deep breaths, but I also find so much beauty out here to make me 'take pause.' I'm sorry if I went on a little long. I'm also looking forward to reading your book.

I am a great believer in living in the moment. Thank-you for the reminder to do so.

I am a stressful person, I tend to worry about situations that will probably never happen. When I start worrying too much I try to think of happy thoughts to pull myself out of it.

I am trying really hard to live in the moment even though it is difficult at times. Living in the past causes too much stress and makes me unhappy, so live for today. Tomorrow will get here soon enough.

I am a huge worrier. Your book sounds great and I would love to read it.

I love reading these comments! I definitely lean more toward worry wart than not, so taking a moment for a deep breath (or three) is such a gift. I also think because today is one of remembrance for our country, it's also a great time to pause and appreciate the moment.

Thanks to everyone for stopping by and sharing your stories and thoughts! I love hearing them all. Best of luck for the contest! :)

All the moments build on one another. I love your philosophy of yoga to take a moment and be in the moment as you go through the day.

I come from a long line of worriers and I truly try to let go of the stresses in my life but old habits are hard to change and I keep slipping back. I need to pay attention constantly - reat insights.
(
Jeanne Sheats 4:25pm September 12, 2011)

Patricia, I love the comment about rainbows! I've always thought they're lucky.

Susan, you're too sweet! I'm the same way with books, which is why I almost always go for books with HEA.

Sandy, that's tough. But being able to roll with it is a powerful skill. Here's hoping you get a much deserved vacation soon!

Alyson, I love your comment! They do build on one another, and I think we have the power to shape how that happens.

Jeanne, I agree. It is so hard to let go, especially if we've been doing it for years. I have to do it one day at a time.

Fresh Fiction has some of the most insightful readers out there! Thanks so much for all of the amazing comments. :D

Holding a loved one, would be a time when I am totally living in the moment.
(
Mary Preston 8:02pm September 12, 2011)

I love your advice to close your eyes and take some deep breaths a few time a day. Everything is so rushed and stressful today. It's good to live without all the unhappy thoughts and turn to things more relaxing and enjoyable to free your mind. Reading a good book, does just that, relaxation for the mind and body!
